**KEEP EYES PEELED**

With all the rain today, our dressage arena is looking more than a little soggy underfoot!

We will do a ground inspection first thing and I will post a decision here by 8am - please keep your eyes peeled.

The last thing we want to do is cancel, but if it’s not safe or is going to damage the surface, we will have no choice. I’ll keep you all posted.

Well done to all our competitors in our September show, some gorgeous tests ridden and some big scores! Full results will be posted ASAP.

On to October! Due to clashes with the Dairyhouse Camp at Somerford (I believe there may still be a space or two going if anyone wants to join us... contact Sandra Doherty for more info) we have had to move the date of our October show.

The show will now be held on SUNDAY 1ST OCTOBER - ie; next weekend! Entries are NOW OPEN.

It might be a bit early but as is traditional, if you want to put your spooky stuff on, feel free.

**SEPTEMBER ENTRIES OPEN TOMORROW**

Evening all!

Entries for our September 17th show open TOMORROW (Monday) at 7pm. I currently have just the one judge booked which means that entries are limited to 40 only - so if you want a place, I'd suggest being quick! If demand dictates I *may* be able to source another judge but no guarantees.

This is our first Trailblazers 1st Round show for 2024 qualification. We had a FAB time down at Addington, and hope many of you will join us next year. Well done to everyone who represented Team Dairyhouse - you all did us proud. The 2024 Finals will be in the first two weeks of August (exact dates TBC).

We are very excited to have the opportunity to host a RingCraft session here at Dairyhouse Farm!

Alex Gingell, FEI judge and brains behind the operation, will be joining us on Saturday 29th July to put you through your paces and improve those dressage marks. ALL levels are welcome. RingCraft is an excellent way to compliment your usual dressage training, and squeeze those extra points from judges.

Unfortunately we haven't got a butty van with us on this occasion, but the wonderful people at Coffee Belle Urmston are going to come over for us instead! They serve amazing coffees, hot drinks, milkshakes, cold drinks, crisps and sweet treats. Please do support them!

Please remember to be at the competition arena TWO MINUTES before your time - the time stated is the time you should be heading down the centre line - if you are late it can delay the whole day. Please follow instructions given by parking and warm up stewards.

If you are a second round competitor, please come to the shed before you ride and let us know/hand in your forms/cards.

Don't forget, if you haven't pre-booked calling, the fee is £1 payable in cash prior to your test.

It's going to be hot so stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and warm up sensibly. Please ask if you need some water for your ponies.

Unusually, we actually still have some space available for our dressage this month! This is only because we have booked two very lovely judges to try and meet the phenomenal demand we experience.

Our Novice and Elementary classes are really rather quiet this weekend - with just 2 entries in each - why not give it a go, and guarantee yourself a rosette?

**MAY DRESSAGE**

Happy Bank Holiday, everyone! A few things to update on:

1) First and foremost, entries for May's dressage will open at 12 noon TODAY

2) This is your final chance to get a 1st round score and Trailblazers Championships card, before our 2nd round competition in June.

3) Have you seen our AMAZING new warm up arena?! Modelled here by the lovely Bessie, I'm sure you'll agree this new and improved addition was worth the wait.

4) Thinking ahead... unfortunately we have to let you know that the competition in August will NOT go ahead as planned. With several other big shows on and our own competition schedule, we feel it wouldn't be viable to run. I am, however, planning something fun and a bit different (non-league) in August (date TBC) so watch this space

**NEWS**

A few bits of important info prior to Sunday’s show!

1) Please remember about the Manchester Marathon and the associated road closures. If you need help planning a route please get in touch, I can help you avoid closures and width restrictions! Please leave extra time for your journey as there are likely to be some delays.

2) Unfortunately because of the above marathon, we have not been able to secure any catering for this show. We will have some snacks and drinks available for purchase, and there are several takeaways available on Deliveroo if you’re desperate for hot food! We know this is disappointing but please do bring provisions to stay fed and hydrated.

3) We are having some arena renovations! The front arena, where we usually warm up, has been dug out and we are so excited to have an amazing new facility coming very soon. This does mean that our warm up arrangements have to change for this show.
**WARM UP WILL BE ON THE FIELD AND IN THE SMALL INDOOR SCHOOL**
The going on the field is perfect, not too hard and not too wet. Our indoor is small but available if preferred - no more than 2-3 ponies in there at any one time please. Please be mindful of ponies turned out in the paddocks on the show field and avoid riding too close, if you notice any of them “joining in” or becoming excited/distressed please move further away and inform someone ASAP.

4) Equine Photography by Carolina will be in attendance to capture your best moments - please do support her

5) Times will be published later tonight (it may well be rather late tonight due to other commitments!).

6) Don’t forget if you score over 58% you have qualified for Trailblazers Championships and can purchase a second round card from us for £12.00 - come join us at the Championship Finals!

7) Probably the most important announcement…. 🐣 we have Easter eggs! 🐣
Eggs for winners, small chocolate rewards for every competitor, and probably some bonus eggs too!

A few bits of important news, please read carefully.

1) *TRAILBLAZERS 2ND ROUND DATE*
Our Trailblazers Championships 2nd round date has now been confirmed as Sunday 11th June 2023.

2) *TRAILBLAZERS CARDS*
Being a later qualifier, means you still have a chance to grab a 2nd round qualifying card! Anyone scoring 58% or over from September 2022 - May 2022 can purchase a 2nd round card for just £12 - please message me for any info

3) *OTHER 2ND ROUNDS*
It's probably not the done thing haha, but if you've already got your qualification card and want to maximise your chances of qualifying... here's a list of local(ish) venues and dates! Don't worry, even if you qualify elsewhere you can still be part of when we go to the champs at the beautiful Addington Equestrian!!

4) *APRIL SHOW ROAD CLOSURES*
This one is very important! Unfortunately, our April show on the 16th coincides with the Manchester Marathon. This means that a lot of roads in Timperley, Sale, Altrincham etc will be subject to closures.
The good news is, the yard is still accessible! People on local yards can access via the lanes. For those coming from further afield, I have double-checked with the Marathon organisers and confirmed that the A56 is open. This means that from the Lymm/A556/M56 roundabout, you can access the venue by turning onto Sinderland Road (by the side of Dominos). Traffic WILL be heavier than usual so please bear that in mind when coming and plan your route accordingly. Check the website for full route map of closures.

A few things to note:
🔹Parking is on the yard. Please follow any signs and park responsibly ensuring others can get in and out.
🔹Galloping Gourmet Urmston are joining us for the morning/lunch, please see their delicious menu attached and grab some top notch grub.
🔹Photography will be provided by the brilliant Equine Photography by Carolina, make sure you check out her snaps!
🔹Anyone scoring 58% or over will be able to purchase a Trailblazers Championships second round card for £12.00 - see us in the shed for more info 🙂
🔹We will be displaying all results from the 2022 league - if you won something but couldn’t come to the presentation evening, please do collect your prizes
