Every year the Picnic in the Park gives £100s to local worthy projects. Delighted to support Hopwood Community Centre which is a fabulous hall, field and playing area in our lovely parish.

Alvechurch Parish Council wish to thank Picnic in The Park for their generous contribution which has facilitated the installation of a further public bench at Hopwood Community Centre which we trust will be enjoyed and used by many!

That was our most challenging event yet but we went ahead and people were still smiling at the end of the day. Despite the odd (!) downpour we still provided a busy dog show and an afternoon packed full of activities, entertainment, crafts, competitions, food and fun.

A massive thank you to our lovely visitors who turned up to support the event, our stallholders and our entertainers.

Are you coming to our lovely community event on Sunday?

Just a quick reminder that there is no parking down Meadow Lane or at The Meadows. Please try and come by train which is a 15 minute walk away or get a lift. If you have to drive please park responsibly - the Red Lion Alvechurch car park is for customers only and you WILL get fined if you abuse this venue.

Please park responsibly - don't block drives, access points, roads or pavements. If you can walk down then please do👍🏻

Aren’t people lovely? Broke my broom whilst clearing out the pool ahead of the Picnic and local John bought me some spares. I also had help from two lovely young visitors to the park. See you on the 26th?

We are delighted to announce that we have a winner of our 2024 Logo Competition. Local lad Hugo, aged 7, was selected as our winner for this years community event logo. Recycling is very close to the heart of the organising committee and whilst many entries illustrated this important subject, it was agreed that Hugo’s hit the message home very clearly. Well done Hugo and to all those that entered!

We look forward to seeing you on the day to open the Picnic at 12 noon (Dog Show starts at 10.30).
