There is a time and a place for training aids, and they can have a beneficial impact. BUT using draw reins to encourage your horse to carry themselves isn't it. Quite simply it's counterintuitive.

We enjoyed a right blast up the village grass gallops this morning. Nammy is my own horse and anyone who knows me knows what a constant journey our rehab has been for the last 6 years. He will never be fully right, but I'm starting to learn to cherish the moments where he feels good and accept that he will never be fully fixed. For some horses Rehab is a lifelong pursuit and it's up to us owners to learn to enjoy the ride ❤️
Delighted with this two week progress update of our new Rehab 😃
Mia is a gorgeous Sandro Hit mare who sustained a severe suspensory ligament tear to her right hind two years ago. She has been on field rest ever since and has now been given the all clear to start a rehab programme building up to her being ridden again.
Daily Therapy programme: Arc equine unit for 3 hours, Photizo low level laser on her Suspensory Ligament, groundwork and long reining using the equiband system on our surfaced gallops and quiet roads.
She has already started to improve her topline and have less of an inverted posture from activating her abdominal muscles thanks to the equibands and from encouraging correct posture in a long and low frame. Fingers crossed she keeps progressing this way!

Bella is a gorgeous well bred ex 1* event mare (competed by Tim and Jonelle price) currently ridden by a 16 year old. Super experienced schoolmistress would make such an amazing opportunity for someone. I'm really keen to help find this horse a lovely home as she is a gentle and kind soul. Super riding club teams prospect or for competitive teenager coming up the levels. Excels around 80cm-1m. Bella is 19 but is low mileage as has bred three foals. She is fit, sound and no lumps or bumps. Very well mannered and a type hard to find, if I was 16 I would jump at the chance. Not suitable for hunting or fun rides and must be kept in an exercise regime as she is an event horse by breed and temperament. Home more import than price. She is currently at our yard until the end of April.

✨Case Study-Ciquala✨
A beautiful miniature who needed some help getting more mobile and comfortable in the field. Ciquala scratches through the summer months and the funky positions she gets herself into can sometimes cause her to stiffen up and struggle with mobility in the field. We can adapt our therapies to horses of any size even if it means massaging on our knees!
Treatment: Full body sports massage and mobilisations for her pelvis and stifles. Stretch activations, cycloidal vibration therapy and low level laser therapy on any sore joints. A few days later Ciquala was back to happily cantering around her field, she will be checked up on throughout the summer months to monitor her mobility and ensure she is as comfortable as possible.

Enjoying the last of these warm summer evenings with horses while we can before winter approaches. You can just about glimpse our “box rest to field” turn out paddock which offers the perfect safe gradual return to turn out for horses post convalescence and is in full view of the stables for peace of mind.
