🐾🥜 PEANUT UPDATE 🥜🐾

Peanuts test results have come back showing that he has pancreatitis’s .

Normally this would mean the dog being admitted to the vets but due to peanut being a working dog they believe he’s best at home .

We have received tablets to take over the next week to help peanut fight this as best he can but unfortunately it’s all down to peanut now 👏🏻

Thank you SO much for the kind messages and support - it’s amazing to see how loved peanut is 💖

I will keep everyone updated but in the meantime I will not be taking on any new clients and I will get back to messages in a few days when I know more about if peanut is responding well or not to treatment.

Please keep peanut in your thoughts and prayers .

Hi all ,

Unfortunately Peanut has had a turn for the worse in his health and he isn’t doing great . We are waiting on test results and I’m doing my best to keep as happy and comfortable in the meantime.

As much as I’m trying to not let it effect work with how quickly he has and is deteriorating some sessions may need to be moved or cancelled with short notice .

I’m sorry for the inconvenience and that I can’t give more information at this time .

Please keep peanut in your thoughts and prays but I will keep you all updated as I know more .

So the XL bully legislation has just been released to the public .

Below you will find the government’s definition of an XL bully breed. If you own a XL or any bully breed please check the website here ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/official-definition-of-an-xl-bully-dog) to see if your dog fits the legislation requirements .

If your dog DOES fit the legislation PLEASE PLEASE make sure you do the following -

Muzzle train your dog - as your dog will need to be muzzled at ALL times in public
(Please make sure the muzzle is correctly fitted and fit for purpose - any good trainer should be able to help with this )

Make sure your dog has great general obedience and isn’t dog or human reactive and can walk nicely on a lead ( please see a trainer if you are struggling with this )

Make sure you have insured your dog via the Dogs trust ( this is for public liability not your pets health - if your dog doesn’t have this insurance it puts them at more risk of getting seized)

Finally make sure you must apply for a Certificate of Exemption.
You will have until 31 January 2024 to apply for this exemption.
Applications will be subject to a £92.40 application fee, to cover administration costs.

Anyone who has trained with me knows I go on and on about doing environmentals with your dog everywhere and anywhere.

Yesterday peanut and I along with two clients had an environmental at a shooting range/clay shoot.

One of my clients will soon be moving to the countryside in wales so gun exposure was super important and my other client had taken up shooting and wants to be able to take there dog with them without barking or being stressed out.
Myself and peanut just used it as exposure to something different.

I’m not saying you need to go to this extent but get your dog out to new place !! Don’t just stick to your local walk around the block or the field down the road.

Anyone who has met peanut knows he’s VERY well trained but he’s also extremely happy and has a huge amount of freedom (BECAUSE HES TRAINED WELL)

A good trainer should have well trained dog that are happy and live a life of freedom because they are well trained not problems ignored because “it makes the dog”

Post like this are becoming more and more common and it’s stupid to say only force free trainers care about dogs !!

Juka update!!

Juka and his owners have been working so hard on General obedience and loose lead walking and they are killing it!!

I wish I got a before video, juka was lunging everywhere with no structure to his walks and now his owners can take him for enjoyable walks and work towards getting Jukas Obedience to a high level!

Nellie has been smashing her training recently so I booked her a private field so we could have a fun session.

I guess the engagement games have been working because she wouldn't leave my side.. !

Whatever you are training stick at it because one day it will just click and it's just the best feeling !

Yesterday evening Juka had his first training session with Peanuts Pet Provider and to say he smashed it was an understatement!

We worked on loose lead walking with his owners and family. At this moment he's still a pup and fairly small but still very powerful.

His owners and family smashed it and in just an hour had Juka walking at heel!

Meet this amazing boy Ozzy!

I met Ozzy and his owners at MK9 Canine Development & Training social obedience class.
(This a class I help matt with as hes my trainer and who I have shadowed and learnt from)

Matt and his owners have done some amazing work to help ozzy overcome his reactivity and he has come SO far from the dog I first met to the dog I walked this week.

Because of all the hard work that has been put in they wanted someone who knew ozzy and how to handle him correctly so it seemed the right fit for me to help out.

I look forward to our future walks and seeing ozzy continue to improve !

Meet Nellie!

Nellie is such a sweetheart and loves people but isn't so keen on other dogs or animals.

Nellie is a rescue and due to this reason we dont know what causes her reactivity but we have been working together in the past weeks to build on Nellie's handler engagement so we have a strong starting foundation for working on her reactivity.

Shes been doing amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing her grow strength to strength 💪
