Somehow in these uncertain times with dreadful misinformed articles in broadsheet newspapers, it’s imperative we keep beating the drum of positivity , that horses are treasured , loved and treated as the sentient beings we know them to be . What an epic weekend , such fun but tiring ! Taking BK ( Balthazar King ) to Aintree for the Legends parade .Thank you to the lovely Anita Brackstone AB Equine Transport for taking us we both agreed 3.30 was a tad early ! It was interesting seeing the racecourse in its normal guise , rather than empty when we are there for the RoR championship show.

Today we had an RoR practice show . The lovely girls who help out at Harroway ,made the weekend possible ( very proud of them 🌟) the horses were beautifully plaited and presented , the yard immaculate and they all supported each other, Thank you.

Katie Dashwood judged and competitors were lucky to have her ride their horses so beautifully, as well as dispensing great advice . Also How many judges come bearing delicious cake ? Though the numbers were not huge 26 over 3 classes it was a very relaxed happy sunny day .
Thanks are also due to Roly Rickcord for stewarding and representing RoR , not to mention being the king of Quiches , such a yummy lunch . Lindsay Bryars being secretary and lastly all the fabulous competitors , Antoinette Mckeowen Juanita Coulson James Young Susie Flook and all my helpers.

Class 1 In Hand
Class 2 Ridden showing competitors to do an individual show.
Class 3 Ridden showing Judge to ride.
Class 4 dependant on what people want Clear Round SJ or a Working hunter type class

This is a fun practice show with plenty of help and feedback.

Tea coffee and biscuits ( possibly cake 🍰 if I’m organised !) available.

One of the biggest personalities on the yard and he has made it to the final 12 . He was entered for a bit of fun and his CV is not as professional as all the other nominees ( I didn’t really put much effort into bigging him up !!!)

It was a lovely day yesterday ,with a good turnout of wonderful people , who came to see what we do at Harroway for .
The horses shone and it was very special to have 3 owners on hand to help / answer questions along with my brilliant riders and team without whom the yard couldn’t function. Retraining of RacehorsesGreat British Racing

Wednesday 13th September the yard is open in National Racehorse Week .
Come along from 10-2 to watch them work culminating in a Side Saddle Demo at 1pm.

It’s been a busy few days with the run up to the Open Day on Saturday , but we made the annual pilgrimage to my most favourite country show Breamore . Quiet , calm and well run. Zarkandar (Gino ) loves it and was beautifully shown in hand for me by Paige I'Anson to win in hand , he then won the veterans ridden and went RoR champion , he is very kind to his veteran jockey !!! Paul Brocklehurst’s gorgeous golden ginger boys came and Major Mac was second and Reserve champion with Olivia and lastly Bahamian Boy ( Bertie) at his and Ellana Woodthorpe’s first show were 3rd I hand and second in his ridden . Huge thanks to Patrick Bauserman for the lovely pictures.
Now exam season is over it’s wonderful to have lots more help in the yard ! The hay is made and the horses approve once they had overcome the horror of large alien stacks in the fields !!!

Praying 🙏 lots of people can come on Saturday to raise money for my three chosen charities. Bring a picnic 🥪🥖🧀🥗🍎🍇🍌Tea coffee cake and biscuits will be available .

This Sunday we have our yearly Pet service all are welcome

18th June SSA Area 10 show , do come along and watch all are welcome

1st July our big fundraiser with amongst other prizes tickets to Badminton and Cheltenham on offer.

13th September National Racehorse Week , the yard is open all day for visitors

All the effort was worth it for the many smiling faces over the weekend. Thank you everyone for coming and participating in the first RoR Harroway show and RoR camp . All the team at Harroway , Pippa Moon , Roseanna Fiddes for judging. My extraordinary mother Jinks Bryer for sharing the teaching , Roly Rickcord for his organisational skills not to mention stewarding ( first time ) Patrick Bauserman’s pictures. On Saturday Olivia took Balthazar King ( BK ) to Aintree for the Legends parade. With all the furore surrounding Racing it was great to showcase the love and attention these beautiful animals get. I Hope all those with TB horses locally, will consider coming along for a unpressurised outing . All welcome from 1st timers to more seasoned campaigners.

Lots of prizes including lovely trophies for class winners 🏆

Advice and help given . Judges Feedback . No showing unpleasant bitchiness !!! A positive introduction to showing , it can be fun and a positive experience . Warm up in a smallish paddock or small indoor school.

Run in aid of RoR @ Retraining of Racehorses.

Some have experienced problems entering on line , but no problem as entries taken on the day .

Lastly pray for good weather as parking is currently VERY soggy 🛶☔️🌧

I hope everyone is managing in the big freeze ? As so much is cancelled and postponed it is time to look ahead to warmer times.

RoR. Clinics are now on Fridays from 2pm , ranging from general flat work , poles , grids and small courses. A calm introduction to the coming season.

RoR Camp 14-16 April with RoR NOVICE PRACTICE SHOW 16th .

1st July CHARITY OPEN DAY

More dates for clinics and Eventers challenge days will be added and advertised in the coming week.

❄️Very sadly due to the extreme cold the Arena is frozen solid ⛸⛸so Sundays fun jumping day / Clinic is CANCELLED. I will be arranging a new date in the new year.

It’s been a busy month with the weekly RoR clinics starting , a trip to beach , 2 RoR XC clinics , people have been very stoical braving the appalling rain latterly ! It’s great to meet new people and their lovely horses .
The training sessions continue to run weekly up to the weekend of 17/18 Dec .
