Puppy School Course starting on Wednesday 3rd April from 7.40 - 8.40pm at The Fairground Hall, Weyhill, SP11 0QN. 2 spaces available.
Starting your puppy's training as early as possible and in the right way is important if puppies are to learn the behaviours you want rather than the behaviours you don't want.
On the course you will teach your puppy to:
* Walk nicely on a lead without pulling
* Come when called
* Meet and Greet people without jumping up
* Be friendly and sociable towards other puppies
* Chill and relax
* Play without play biting
* Enjoy being handled
* Sit, Stand, Lie Down and Stay
I use only kind, positive, rewards based training so if your puppy is vaccinated, ready to socialise and under 20 weeks at the start of the course and you are keen to start their training then do get in touch.

How Fabulous! We're on TV!

Tune into "Love Your Weekend" with Alan Titchmarsh on ITV on 24th March at 9.30am to find out more about our techniques and meet Winnie (4 month old Golden Retriever), Bailey (5 month old Cockapoo) and Sage (6 month old Vizsla).

We discussed the importance of training a puppy through kind, gentle positive reward-based training which builds trust & gives owners the skills they need to enable their puppy to become a friendly, well behaved family dog rather than a puppy who ends up in a rescue centre.

Teaching a reliable recall is really important. If you don’t have a reliable recall then you can’t let your puppy off & of course that means that your puppy doesn’t get to burn off all that energy & just be a puppy with the freedom to explore. Obviously as well as having a reliable recall we need to make sure that we pick a safe place away from the road and away from livestock before letting them off lead.

An area of training I get asked about more than any other is walking a puppy without them pulling. As I explained to Alan, puppies don’t come pre-programmed so although our expectation might be a lovely walk in the countryside or to the park with our puppy walking nicely beside us the reality is often a bit different! Teaching our puppy to walk nicely beside us takes time but is so worthwhile – after all our puppy will hopefully be with us for many years and an adult dog that walks calmly on a loose lead at our side makes walking a pleasure. Do share this with family and friends
