Dogs should be groomed regularly. More specifically, they should be groomed every 2-6 weeks. If anyone says any different, they’re trying to sell you a dog.

Now we’re not suggesting that pets should be visiting a professional pet groomer every 2-6 weeks, but it starts at home!

𝗔 𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆!
It’s a pet guardian’s responsibility to protect, feed, water, shelter, train, and groom their pets. It’s a pet guardian’s responsibility to do research on what their pets need and to fulfill these needs for their pets.

Pet guardians don’t need to become scissor masters, but mastering the consistency of grooming their pets at home from puppyhood, through to adulthood and beyond is essential. This means bath, dry, brush, comb from root to tip.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁?
• Dogs learn that grooming is a part of life and not a punishment
• Dogs learn that grooming is not an acitivity to stress over
• Regular grooming promotes healthy skin and hair growth
• You assess your dog’s coat and skin health on a regular basis and spot abnormalities before they become sinister
• Regular coat maintenance keeps hair in it’s best shape so that your pet can be kept in any length and style
• You’re not hit with ‘unexpected’ (but let’s face it, expected!) coat shaves and matting charges

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁:
The longer the hair, the more maintenance this requires - time, effort, product, energy, water. If you are unable to get a comb through your dog’s hair, groomers can’t either. If we can’t get a comb through the coat, it can’t stay long. So it’s just maths really 🤔🧮
