Connellhill results from Thursday 11th July and Saturday 13th July

Saturday morning’s Training Show at Connell Hill in Randalstown proved as popular as ever. The show kicked off with the 60cm with all competitors in the jumping lovely clear rounds. Cathy Longstad was on a winning streak in the 70cm class with her second double clear on Reevie, followed closely by Diane Scott on Maygi, Molly Ferguson on Honey and Lisa Thompson on Paplo, Noel McKee gave a lovely performance partnered with his young 4-year-old mount Charlie. Moving forwards to the 80cm class was Judith Beattie on Duke and Jolie Dalton on Sweeney. A very credible result for Molly Ferguson and Honey navigating their first 80cm course whilst moving up the classes week by week. Then 90’s saw Cali Kennedy on Coreen Rock N Roller, Kaylie Byers on Ollie and Jodie Creighton with her young 4-year-old mare, Charlotte. The final classes of the day saw Rachel Hall on Coole in the 1m, and Alana Lavery on Poppy jump the 1.10m, followed very closely by a talented Robert Newell delivering the final feat of the day on his horse Louis.
Very well done to everyone who took part.
The Training shows continue next week on Saturday 20th July, starting at 10 am. Classes begin with x-poles (assisted and unassisted) all the way up to 1.30m. Entries are taken on the day and everyone is very welcome.
Connell Hill is an excellent venue and first class facility to school round on a Saturday morning with jumping classes to suit all levels. Located just outside Antrim, the venue avails of both indoor and outdoor schools and is accessible just off the M2 and dual carriageway.
Details of all events can be found on Gillian Creighton/and Connell Hill pages, and SJI Registered show dates are available on www.sjilive

A Super Days Jumping for Gilford Rider at Connell Hill Equestrian

The first few classes saw Connell Hill’s Training Show in Randalstown as the perfect opportunity for schooling young ponies and horses, and hats off to committed young rider Ben Walsh, who jumped in a range of the many classes throughout the day.

The morning moved on swiftly to the 70cm class, and taking equal first place was Katie Surgenor on Prince and Aimee Frew riding Minty. The 80cm class saw some great jumping with Caroline Gaston on Stella and daughter Emma on Dora, along with competitors Ben Walsh, Bianca McElnea, Eva O’ Melvena and Mya Morrison all picking up the red rosettes. Well done to all riders who competed in the 90’s class showing some great talent and skill. Gilford Rider Steven Smith exceled in the 1m class with some super double clear rounds, and a double clear round for Denis O’Brien riding young horse Jeffrey.

The top riders in the 1.10 class saw Steven Smith compete another four horses, and Ben Walsh rode Paddy and Casper in what was a very successful day. In the final class Ben Walsh jumped again, and this time taking Paddy to the top of the 1,20m. Congratulations to all riders for such a splendid days jumping.

The next date of Connell Hill’s unregistered jumping is this Saturday 17th February, starting at 10 am.
Classes for everyone starting from x-poles right the way up to 1.20/1.30m
Entries are now open online and can also be taken on the day.
All details can be found on Gillian Creighton/and Connell Hill pages.
