๐ฅ๐ฅ Antrim Pet Services milestone ๐ฅ๐ฅ
A very proud moment for Antrim Pet Services and it couldn't have been done without all your support and loyalty.
I am super proud to introduce our newest, FULL TIME member of the A.P.S family, Ryan. Some of you might have already had the privilege of meeting Ryan during his first 2-3 weeks.
For the last 9-12 months maybe more, I have been on the lookout for someone to help me with all our 4 legged family members. The problem I always encountered with applicants was my incredibly high standards, which I was, under no circumstances willing to compromise on. The same question always went through my head โ Would I be happy leaving Tilly with X,Y,Zโ
Ryan is no stranger to Antrim Pet Services, he helped me in the beginning set up our indoor play area, helped me during my time off with injury and joined us on countless Saturday Forest Explorers walks. Ryan is always someone I knew would be perfect for A.P.S.
Just to keep everything official and black & white between Ryan and myself, I explained about a probationary period, just to make sure he enjoyed the work and everything that was involved.
Day 1- A little overwhelming for Ryan (it was tornado Tuesday) ๐คฃ but he was brilliant for his first day.
Day 2- getting stuck straight in, having conversations with the dogs, throwing balls/ toys but the icing on the cake was Ryan having a full on wrestling match with Big Dexter ๐ฅ instantly I knew, Ryan was perfect for APS. Probationary period passed ๐คฃ
For full clarity and to help understand why I wanted/needed extra help. It was simply to reduce down travel time, and extra set of hands and eyes and to maximise your pets experience with us. This isn't a case of extra person = more dogs. We are at full capacity almost every session and the numbers will remain that way. โฅ๏ธ
I asked Ryan a few questions and here was his responses.
1. The forbidden question... Have you any sneaky favorites?
- No favourites as such but if I had to pick one dog so far I have a connection with its Big Dexter. Him and I get on well together and love doing a bit of 'ruff' housing which I always loved doing with my own dogs.
2. What have you loved about the role so far?
-As weird as it sounds the driving for pick ups is the part I love so far, let me explain. Going to the houses and seeing just how excited the dogs are to see the van and when I walk to the door. How could it not make you feel good about your job.
3. What is one thing that surprised you about A.P.S?
- How well behaved the dogs are with each other and the control Craig has with them. They can be so rough in playing but they never go too far. They just want to play and have fun.
4. In your opinion what is something A.P.S is missing or could improve on?
-There is a lot going on in the background for improvements at APS so I don't honestly think there is anything missing.
