Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit independent registered charity. We rely entirely upon the kindness and generosity of the people of Northern Ireland.

The sanctuary is run by a small staff, aided by dedicated team of volunteers. The Sanctuary cannot monitor this page daily, so if you're looking for any information regarding rehoming, please call or email us.

Little Dotty is an absolute sweetheart! She loves nothing more than to get doted upon. and get her neck and back scratched. When she's not receiving attention, she's tucked up in her cat tree watching the world go by. Dotty had been kept indoors in her previous home. She would be suited to a home with or without children. Also with or without cats, (if so, a slow introduction to the other cat would be preferable). She would not be suited to a home with dogs.

Nancy was recently surrendered by her breeder, she first spent some time with another rescue before being transferred to ourselves.

Fortunately the previous rescue did fantastic work with the little lady and she has come on leaps and bounds in terms of confidence.

Nancy is a sweet and quiet little lady who has some time living with both other dogs and cats.

Little Nancy isn't overly fond of being left on her own and while this could certainly be worked on it would be good if initially any adopter would not be leaving her alone for any long periods of time.

Little Louis was recently surrendered to the sanctuary. Louis like many of his breed type Louis is a little character. We quickly learned to love his quirks here.
Louis can be a little uncomfortable getting a harness or collar on/removed so some help with desensitising to this would be beneficial for the little guy.

Breed experience will benefit your application.

Louis could potentially live with another dog pending successful meet and greets. Louis could live with children aged 8 + years who have a sensible approach to dogs.

Both Benny and Bailey are absolutely stunners that weigh in around 12.5kg. They are both at the adolescent stage and could do with someone willing to help them through this stage of their life. They will require someone with quite a bit of energy and time to meet their exercise and emotional needs.
We are trying to rehome Benny and Bailey separately where they can both receive individual training.

Joy's Appeal Miss Joy Joy is still waiting for her own personal servant to adopt her and give her lots of scratches, cuddles and treats. In the meantime, she is getting plenty from us! Lil Kim has had some struggles with kennels, coping with the noise and stresses of kennel life can be difficult for many dogs but Border Collies are on a different level. We have been trying to help Kim in any way we can including visits to a staff members home (to allow some time away from kennels). 7 months into her stay here we really hope her adoption day will come soon. 🩷 We need your help for Dolly 🩷 Miss Dolly arrived to us on the 7th January from a breeder. Since she arrived we noticed that she had some issues walking and she had a head tilt. After several weeks with us and various assessments with our vet team, Dolly's condition is not getting any worse - but it is also not improving. Our vet team believe that her condition is a neurological issue but there is concern that it could be caused by a brain tumour. The only way that we can find out the cause for sure is by giving Dolly an MRI scan - but these are very costly. We are committed to giving Dolly the treatment she needs in order to give her the best possible future - but we are asking for your help to raise the money needed for her MRI scan.
