We have news….🎅🏻🎅🏻

Santa is coming to Blue Poppy with his Winter Wonderland! This is a pre-book only event that we are running each Sunday afternoon throughout December.
Your child will receive a personalised written invite from Santa himself, they can sit & chat to Santa and his elf people in the Wonderland & Santa will send them off home with their very own fab goodie bag & Santa certificate. There will be a complimentary glass of Prosecco for their accompanying adult.
The shop will also be open throughout the Wonderland experience🎅🏻
Either call into Blue Poppy or give us a ring to pre-book, there will only be a certain amount of Santa visits available so book quick to avoid disappointment! 🎅🏻🎅🏻

I am looking for my forever home 🏡 ❤

Mischa originally came into our care because of her separation anxiety. She gets very attached to her owners and panics when left. She will need a home where there is someone around all the time initially and she will have to be built up to being left on her own very gradually.

Mischa has been rehomed once and unfortunately had to be returned to us because of a couple of serious altercations with the other dog in the house. Everything was fine for the first 6 weeks but then Mischa did become more and more jealous as time went on, again, because she gets very attached to her people. This also applied when meeting other dogs out and about.

We are looking to rehome Mischa as the only pet, in an adult only home. We are going to recommend that she is walked with a muzzle in areas where you would expect to meet other dogs, as a precaution. We’ve had her back with us now for a couple of months and she has been behaving very well around other dogs and will walk past them on lead with no reaction.

She is an extremely affectionate dog and will make a fantastic companion. She is cuddly and sweet and has become a staff favourite due to her lovely nature. She is a big girl but walks very nicely on a Gencon and had made good progress with her lead walking with her previous owners. She’s very food orientated which helps massively with her training, she’s quick to figure things out if it means that she’s going to get fed for it!

Mischa would love a home with a secure garden so she can have some safe off-lead time.

Byron is still waiting for his forever home 🏡

AGE – 6 1/2 Years

BREED – Basset Hound X Poodle
STATUS – Available
CATS – Unknown
DOGS – Okay With Some, Not Others
CHILDREN – No

Byron was handed in due to his owners change in circumstances.

He has been with us quite a while now. When he first arrived he was fine and we had no problems with him, but after he’d been here a while some behavioural issues presented themselves.

He has shown aggression to a few of our volunteers, we feel that he is guarding the places and people that he knows. He is absolutely fine with the all the staff here, as they have known him since he arrived and handle him on a regular basis, he even allowed one of our staff to take him home and groom him and didn’t even need to wear a muzzle.

He loves playing with a ball on our paddocks. He is possessive over his toys, but will swap them for a tasty treat.

He can sometimes be a bit barky around other dogs initially, but soon settles down and will walk alongside most dogs without issue. He definitely seems to be a ladies man, he seems more excited when meeting the girls. We are looking to home him as the only dog because of his guarding.

Byron will need experienced owners who can come and make several visits to get to know him before taking him home. He will need careful management when visitors come to the house and will need to be muzzled as a precaution when meeting people, until he gets to know them
