Wow, wow, wow! What a day we’ve had!!
K9 Massage Clinic came down to Arbroath to do the amazing Introduction to Canine Massage workshop! Absolutely incredible!! 🤩 I knew it was going to be good, but wow! It exceeded all my expectations! We learnt so much!! And now can treat my boys to a 40 minute full body Swedish massage! 🥰 this will be amazing for my old boys, and my young sports dogs too!
I worked with Tiamo today who is 10 years old and starting to have aches and pains, he had the best day!!
Thanks to everyone who came along, Hannah for helping organise & keeping us all topped up with biscuits & coffee! and of course Catriona from K9 massage clinic for sharing your knowledge & skills with us all!!

So proud of these handlers & their amazing dogs! Reaching Entry level of the The National Nosework Association scent work trials! From the very first Scottish foundation trial last year to now smashing Entry level 🤩

Say hello to Scotland’s first The National Nosework Association Entry Trialers 🌟

In just one year these guys have worked their way through both the Foundation & Pre-Entry Stages to get here; having to earn a badge (find all their hides) in over 21 searches!

We held our first ever NNA Trial in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 on the 26th August 2023 at Dream Dogs - dog training 😮

It’s been a pleasure teaching and judging these teams and we couldn’t be prouder of ALL the teams competing and having fun with their dogs in this amazing sport 🥳

You know when a dog just comes along and steals a piece of your heart ❤️
Lola did just that, she’s so full of cheeky character, reminds me so much of my lurchers, proper thinker or as I like to say - calculated criminals 😂
She is loving her agility training with her mum & really starting to understand that working for reward is actually worth it! Love how she makes us think outside the box, cause she’s probably run off with the box anyway 🤩

We haven’t hosted a scent work Intro in so long! Cause we have been busy with workshops & competing in trials with our awesome students!!
But now is the time!! 🔥🔥🔥
Any breed, any age, any level of training…. All they need is a nose, and a handler ready to get hooked on scent work!!!

The Progression workshop is for anyone who has previously done Intro, or is currently competing and would like more practice!!

My boys never fail to amaze me! Yesterday we were entered into a The National Nosework Association Scent work trial run by Little Rascals School for Dogs judged by K9 Track & Train
Tiamo was first up, only his second trial - interior through us a challenge as a bowl of kibble was near the scent that no one knew about 🤣 Tiamo knew!🙈 once he knew that wasn’t what he was searching for he cracked on and found the hide!
Selection - boom 💥 3… yes 3seconds 🤩
Exterior through us another challenge, a lovely smelling horse rug through me off, and I gave a false call, then in my panic about time running out accidentally pulled him off a wheelbarrow where the hide was!
Wizard - after completing his pre entry ORT (3/3!)
His first pre entry trial!!
Interior was first, I took the decision to work him off lead to avoid the mistake I just made with Tiamo! And so glad I did!! He wasn’t mucking about!! 2 hides in 62 seconds! 🤩
He bagged himself a SYNERGY badge for this search! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Then onto exterior, which included some poles & cones in the area so he through in a few agility wing wraps just for fun, and found both hides in 120 seconds!
Then selection (in an agility arena) blew his brain a bit, and blasted past the scent, definitely our weakest area - so selection box homework!
Then his first vehicle search - tried to work him off lead but quickly put him back on after he was distracted by other smells, once he got back to it gave a lovely vehicle search & found both hides with really nice indications 😍
Can’t wait till the next trial in Arbroath in 2 weeks!! 🤩

I love this stage of learning, full of fun!!
As well as our basic obedience stuff tonight we also did lots of confidence building 🤩 I think there will be some tired puppies tonight!! 😂

Cuteness alert ‼️
Puppppiessss 😍 Last night we had our Junior dog classes, so much fun! This is usually the hardest stage for owners when their pups start going through puberty 😈 every dog is different and sets new challenges! But the hard work put in now will pay off in the long run!
Our owners are in it to win it! And to come out the other end of the adolescent stage with a confident, social, focused and well behaved dog 🤩

It was great to meet all the new puppy owners tonight! Week 1 of our young puppy class 🥰 We talked training, motivation, common puppy problems and so much more. We can’t wait for next week to get all the puppies started on their training journey!!

After a very long and painful two months recovering from a horrendous back injury, I am back!! ⭐️

⭐️Our Agility classes starting back this Sunday!

⭐️New Puppy classes starting Tuesday evenings 28th of May (more details on this coming this weekend!)

⭐️And lots of amazing fun & exciting workshops coming up in June & July!

Thanks for everyone’s support over the past few months!
I will get back to all the pms & emails this weekend now we have a plan in place!!

I get asked a lot if I know any behaviourists locally, lots of people claim to be ‘behaviourists’ or ‘dog psychologists’ please be aware these are not protected titles, anyone can walk out their front door and claim to be one!
Please do your research, what qualifications does the person actually have?
Well my good friend Shannon has just completed her Diploma in Animal behaviour therapy and is now a certified Animal Behaviourist.
If you need behavioural help with your dog please do not hesitate to contact her!!
