Self control can be so hard for puppies! It IS achievable without intimidation, fear, or any aversive tools! and actually is achieveable without saying a word! Lola is learning that making great choices gets you the thing you want so badly! (In this case food) Well done Lola!

We had a whole load of snow for our final puppy class of 2023! Magical! ❄️ All of these pups have done amazing over the past 5 weeks all down to the hard work of the owners! 🤩

Wizard has been out of sorts recently, I think it’s to do with a certain little floofy thing stealing all the training time 🙈
It’s to be expected when a new pup joins a household, the older “well trained dogs” skills start to slip.
Not the dogs fault at all, far from it!!
I just need to put in more effort. So today we did lots of fun recall work on our walk and then while at our field I thought let’s have a play with some simple dummy retrieves, something he LOVES!! 🤯
It’s always important to film training - if only to witness yourself making monkey noises 🐵 and making up a new language consisting of rata tata tat tat ta….. 🤷♀️🤣🤣🤣
anyway he found this super hard today, retrieves were rubbish, no self control and frustration barking, he has apparently forgotten heel too 🤣 but it’s a reminder to myself we must train more…. 😃
Don’t get frustrated at the dog if you haven’t put the effort in to keep up training - kick yourself and then get back to it!!
I’ve started conditioning my pup to the treat & train machine, it works like a clicker - do a behaviour - beep - treat. When he hears the beep he knows he was right.
This little session was just a quick ‘look at me’ in a new environment last night 🤩
Our beginners agility group met a new piece of equipment today! The A Frame!
The A frame is a piece of contact equipment, the dogs must make contact with the coloured zone (white zone) going up and down the equipment, and if your a Springer like Wyvis you can fly the bit in the middle 🤣 (we will work on striding, but today was about confidence building and fun! Which they have loads of!!)

Check out the beginners agility groups!! All of these dogs and handlers have been working so hard and wow the hard work is paying off! We have been working on Go straight, toy drive, tunnel drive, front crosses, independence and this week was their first ever go at blind crosses!! Check them out!! 👏🏼👏🏼 (A rear cross and a front cross thrown in, can you spot them?)
These guys have only being playing agility for 7 weeks!! I am very excited to see what these guys will be in another 7!! Incredible!! 🤩🤩🤩
