That’s a wrap from me! Officially now on maternity leave at 37 weeks pregnant. I’ve worked up to the very last minute my body was physically capable of and each day has been a risk. I kept getting images of being half way through grooming a dog and going into labour 😆

Thank you so much for my lovely gifts! I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the beautiful handpicked flowers in the background of the handknitted picture from another client too!

I was back really early after having my wee Rory because I'm so fortunate I work from home and didn't have to leave him. Maternity pay is also absolutely shocking 😭 so I'm sure I'll see you all soon enough! I'll miss your furry friends in the meantime 🥰

Exactly what you need in your final 3 weeks of work trying to cram in as many dogs as possible before finishing for maternity leave 😖😫 luckily no break, just ligament damage! Lost my footing on uneven ground yesterday and my ankle crunched north, east, south and west! Luckily again it was on a Sunday and not a weekday so Ronnie and my brother were with me and managed to carry me back to the car 🙈 being heavily pregnant on crutches is as fun as you’d imagine! What a difference since getting my big moon boot on I can put a bit of pressure on it now 😁

I’ve had to delete sooo many dog pics because the table is in front of the window and the weather has been so RUBBISH and dark recently you can’t see them! Managed to lighten a couple of them but I’ll need to rearrange the salon so I can upload all the beautiful faces!

I’m now 30 weeks pregnant and in the last year of my 20s (😭) as of Wednesday just passed! Working up to the 31st of July (I know, I’m off my head!) I’m going to need to cut a hole in the table and bath so I can get closer to the dogs 😆 I only have a handful of spaces early July left now until I go on maternity leave so if you’d like to get your pooch booked in beforehand be quick! I’ve said before that I’m so fortunate I work from home and got back to work ridiculously early after having Rory because I didn’t have to leave him I just had him with me so all things crossed everything will work out the same this time. Last time I had a waiting list of clients that I just messaged whenever I felt ready and started grooming just 1 dog a day so I’ve done the same again this time. Please let me know if you’d like to be added to it and I’ll do that straight away 😘

That’s me officially on a well earned holiday until the 13th of May. First one in 2 years! I’ll still be answering messages in the evening but I wouldn’t call because I’ll be soaking up the sunshine in Greece ☀️ to celebrate our 11 year anniversary and to try and relax before becoming a family of 4 🩵

Lots of questions about my maternity leave. I’m working up to the end of July which is 3 weeks before my due date 😬 I went a week early with Rory too so I’m off my head. I started back super early too because I’m so fortunate I can work from home and when they’re new borns they just sleep all the time anyway so I just had Rory cosied up in his pram at the salon door 🥰 I had a list of all my clients that would be due their trims and just gradually started messaging them and doing one a day until I could build it up once I got to know Rory’s routine. Doing it this way worked pretty smoothly last time so hopefully we can make it work this time too. If it does work out the same then no one should have to wait much longer than their usual grooming time anyway. I’m already pretty booked up for mid to late July and loads of bookings between now and then too so if you’re not organised, now is the time to 😘

Thought I’d try something a bit different on Friday 📷 A wee insight into hand stripping. It’s a more natural look than clipping and works perfect on breeds like border terriers like beautiful Buidhe here. Her coat is like butter to handstrip 😍 you pull the hair out between your thumb and the stripping stone and it doesn’t hurt them one bit as you can see from the video. My fingers are still sore today right enough 🤪 I love being able to offer handstripping for certain breeds but if your border is on the older side or has any skin conditions then clipping is definitely better for them 🧡

Man oh man Friday was a tough one saying goodbye to these two! I’ve groomed these 2 beautiful girls for years and also groomed their brother Arnie until 🌈 💔
Your continued return, support and kindness means more to me than I can explain so I don’t just get attached to your dogs, I bond friendships with you too!
Catherine, Mike, Juno and Isla I will miss you very much. Best of luck in your new home down south. Thank you for choosing me to look after your doggies 😘

Half way to meeting baby Dyer no.2! I’m due in August so I aim to try and work to the end of July and I already have quite a few dogs booked around then so it’s time to get organised if you haven’t already 😘 I worked until I was 8 months last time so I’m hoping my poor body will cope until then!

Also a very special mention for the queen of the house - my wee Mocha turned 8 yesterday! The mum to my other 3 dogs and 8 others 🐶🤎

🐕 DOGGY DAYCARE IS BACK!!! 🐕

It’s been soo long 😍

🐶 Going away for the day and don’t want to leave your pooch at home alone?
🐶 Is your dog booked in for a groom but you’re struggling to leave work for pickup and drop off?
🐶 Do you just fancy treating your dog to a pamper and play day?
🐶 Think your dog needs a bit of socialising with other dogs?
🐶 Is your dog quite nervous getting dropped off to be groomed? A day at daycare is almost guaranteed to concur their fear (it’s worked with loads of my grooming clients!)
🐶 Here on holiday and going kayaking for the day?

I’ll be offering:
A half day (4 hours £15) - 1 walk
Full day (8 hours £22) - 2 walks

Unfortunately this is only on offer until July time as we’re expecting our second bundle of joy in August 👶🏻
Only dogs that are good with children and other dogs allowed!!

Oh hey there! 👋🏼 I’ve just realised I‘ve been super quiet on here. I’ve been powering through the yucky first stage of pregnancy but luckily grooming your beautiful doggos takes the edge off.
