Bath time, lovely water, not too hot, not too cold. ♥️🐾
Your dogs can happily play all day in your gardens when it’s a hot day. Just be sure to have accessible shaded areas available, and plenty of clean drinking water available. Your dogs are sensible creatures, they intuitively know what they need to do on a hot day! Common sense is everything when caring for dogs, and any other animals we may have.
Below is my larger chihuahua (and my smallest chihuahua) enjoying a drink. 💝🫶🐾
DTG, lcgi, know the importance of following The Animal Welfare Act 2006 when it comes to grooming your precious ones. It’s vital when de shedding to use the correct tools, the right amount of tension and not to exceed guide times for this type of work. If you get this wrong you could cause pain and discomfort, even broken skin, that could lead to infection! When grooming always follow the rules. Keeping your dog safe and happy when grooming will go a long way to building a really strong bond between you both. ⭐️⭐️🙏🙏🐾
DTG did a dry de shed on this beauty first. He then went to the bath. He’s so good, he’s walk’s calmly up the steps into the bath, he doesn’t need to be restrained once in, he’s so good. It also makes it easier for him to turnaround. Once the first shampoo is in his coat I start another, this time, wet de shed. 🫶🐾
This boy goes crazy if muzzled. It stresses him out too much, making the groom so much more difficult! Over the years I have been working with him we have struck up a good relationship. I respect him but can never trust him entirely. Never an easy groom but always satisfying getting him clean, mat free and comfortable. 🥰
This boy is food led, that helps so much in getting his groom done. 😋
This clever little girl comes in for regular nail care. She likes to lay down, getting a cuddle whilst I work on her!
What a sweetheart she is. 💝💝🐾🐾
This totally gorgeous Norfolk Terrier came back into DTG today. The last time I saw him he was ‘wearing’ some of dad’s dinner. ( he likes to help dad with the cooking) 🤣🤣.
Haha, no dinner in his coat today to call upon…..no worries, DTG gave him a treat instead. 💕💕🌟🌟♥️♥️. He’s so cute!
This little lad is just coming to end of his teeth treatment for today. (Monday). He’s been a very good boy. As you would expect when coming to the end of the treatment dogs can sense it, and are eager to get back playing and having fun. He was, and is a superstar ⭐️ for teeth treatments. His teeth have responded so well to his sessions, and really helped with his gum inflammation.
Small dogs are more prone to tooth decay, and it usually occurs more quickly than in larger dogs.
If you can, start cleaning your puppies teeth sooner rather than later. Make it part of your daily routine’s. Your dog will really benefit from it. 🙏🐾🫶
Yesterday, DTG, lcgi welcomed this gorgeous boy back in. He had asked his mum to bring him in earlier than usual for his regular groom.
Because he is black the heat was affecting him and he needed to go as short as possible.
Your professional groomer will be able to do this, remembering to keep enough coat on to also protect them from the sun ☀️. Protection from the sun is very important for dogs, just as it is for people!
During this very hot weather please remember not to plunge your hot dogs into very cold water. Doing so could cause your dog to go into shock. That’s very dangerous for dogs! Stick to tepid water, plenty of drinking water should always be available (not just in hot weather) and provide shaded areas for your dog. 🫶😎
Clever boy. It’s sounds obvious, but never be tempted to cut, or clip what you can’t see! Always move your doggies into the correct position to be able to see clearly. Sometimes your doggie may not make it easy for you, this boy was fine though,🙌⭐️💕 but always get the correct position before you begin.
