Here are five of the most toxic items to dogs during Christmas:
1. **Chocolate**
Contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and can cause vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, and seizures. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are especially dangerous.
2. **Poinsettias**
While not highly toxic, these festive plants can irritate a dog’s mouth and stomach, causing drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea.
3. **Mistletoe**
Both European and American mistletoe can cause gastrointestinal upset, difficulty breathing, slowed heart rate, and even seizures in severe cases.
4. **Tinsel and Decorations**
While not inherently toxic, ingesting tinsel, ribbons, or ornaments can lead to serious internal blockages or lacerations in a dog's digestive tract.
5. **Alcohol and Alcohol-Containing Treats**
Even small amounts of alcohol (from drinks, desserts, or unbaked dough) can cause dangerous drops in blood sugar, blood pressure, and body temperature in dogs.
Be sure to keep these items well out of reach to ensure your furry friend has a safe holiday!

Did you know every festive collar/scarf and bandana that goes out on each dog is hand made on the day for your dog? This is how we make the "Christmas Scarf themed Collar".

Many of you have already met Jess, my quirky little sidekick who holds court from her crate on my desk whenever I’m in the salon.
Originally, I got Jess with grand dreams of competing in Dog Grooming Competitions (yes, they’re a real thing!). But her gorgeous, silky-soft puppy coat had other plans—it never quite transformed into the thick, sculptable fleece required for the show ring. So now, she’s our reigning *Top Dog* at the salon, keeping a watchful eye on all that we do with her own brand of fluffy charm.
What about you? Do you have a special memory with a pet who’s inspired you? I’d love to hear your heartwarming (or hilarious!) stories in the comments!"
