🌟 **Heartfelt Gratitude from Centre Stage Dog Grooming** 🌟

As the year comes to a close, we are filled with immense gratitude for each and every one of you – our amazing clients and furry friends who have made this journey so special. 🐾💖

Thank you for trusting us with the care and grooming of your beloved pets. Every wagging tail, happy bark, and purring cuddle has brought so much joy into our lives. Your loyalty, kindness, and support have not only kept our scissors snipping but also warmed our hearts. ✂️✨

To all the pups (and their humans!) who’ve walked through our doors this year, thank you for being part of our Centre Stage family. We are honored to play a role in keeping your pets looking and feeling their very best.

Here’s to another year of love, laughter, and fur-filled adventures together! 🐕🎉 Wishing you all a paws-itively wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year.

With love and gratitude,
The Centre Stage Dog Grooming Team 🐶❤️

Here are five of the most toxic items to dogs during Christmas:

1. **Chocolate**
Contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and can cause vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, and seizures. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are especially dangerous.

2. **Poinsettias**
While not highly toxic, these festive plants can irritate a dog’s mouth and stomach, causing drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea.

3. **Mistletoe**
Both European and American mistletoe can cause gastrointestinal upset, difficulty breathing, slowed heart rate, and even seizures in severe cases.

4. **Tinsel and Decorations**
While not inherently toxic, ingesting tinsel, ribbons, or ornaments can lead to serious internal blockages or lacerations in a dog's digestive tract.

5. **Alcohol and Alcohol-Containing Treats**
Even small amounts of alcohol (from drinks, desserts, or unbaked dough) can cause dangerous drops in blood sugar, blood pressure, and body temperature in dogs.

Be sure to keep these items well out of reach to ensure your furry friend has a safe holiday!

Backstage at Centre Stage! 🎅

We’re in full Elf-Mode, turning caffeine and glitter into Christmas magic for our clients - seriously, we’re like Santa’s overworked but festive interns.

Did you know every festive collar/scarf and bandana that goes out on each dog is hand made on the day for your dog? This is how we make the "Christmas Scarf themed Collar".

What about you? Are you crushing holiday prep or just pretending the tree fell over on its own? Let me know in the comments!

Many of you have already met Jess, my quirky little sidekick who holds court from her crate on my desk whenever I’m in the salon.

Originally, I got Jess with grand dreams of competing in Dog Grooming Competitions (yes, they’re a real thing!). But her gorgeous, silky-soft puppy coat had other plans—it never quite transformed into the thick, sculptable fleece required for the show ring. So now, she’s our reigning *Top Dog* at the salon, keeping a watchful eye on all that we do with her own brand of fluffy charm.

What about you? Do you have a special memory with a pet who’s inspired you? I’d love to hear your heartwarming (or hilarious!) stories in the comments!"

Throwback to 2006 when I attempted my first creative trim on my Standard Poodle, Flossy Flo! (I thought it was brilliant at the time 🤣) I was going for a Beret style hat, a "Bomber" Jacket with a huge fluffy collar and flared legs.

It’s amazing to see how far I've come since then. I've attended god knows how many seminars and workshops and taken my IPG exams achieving their highest qualification of an International Certified Master Groomer.

Are you brave enough to post a pic of your first attempt at "Creative" grooming below?

One of the very best elements of my job is being able to help people.

Often we spot issues with a dog that the owner simply can't see - in this case, an interdigital cyst which was revealed with the blaster during the bathing process.

Regular grooming appointments aren't just about making the dog look nice. An experienced groomer will also give the dog a "once over" while grooming and may spot something that the owner hasn't yet which requires veterinary attention.

I'm really pleased to say that Maggie has made a full recovery.

It's such a satisfying career.

Hi !

I'm looking forward to seeing all my lovely clients this Christmas and I hope everyone can get to me on time for their appointment and back to me on time to pick their dogs up.

When a client turns up early "on the off chance" that their dog is ready, it creates chaos here at the salon.

The dog on the table turns into something akin to a Kangeroo on Crack and becomes impossible to finish.

Those last minutes are vital. I finish every groom with the head ... so if they turn up 10 mins early I will have extremely sharp scissors hovering over a dog's eyes. Seriously guys - it's not funny.

So please be considerate - the RED NOT READY sign is there for a reason. I haven't forgotten to turn it over to the green READY sign!

If you're sending your husband to pick up the dog PLEASE MAKE SURE HE KNOWS THIS APPLIES TO HIM TOO!!!!!
