Its with a heavy heart that we announce the sad passing of our dear friend and colleague Jill, who passed away suddenly a couple of weeks ago.
Jill was the kindest person, always thinking of others, and who would go out of her way to give help and advice to her family, friends, colleagues and to our clients.
She was extremely dedicated to Forest House for many years and passionate about her role and all the animals in our care.
She is together with her dear husband Barrie now, but will be very much missed by everyone who knew her. Our thoughts go out especially to her daughters at this difficult time 💔

Whilst we appreciate that the legal requirement to wear a facemask has been relaxed, we would ask please that all clients continue to wear one when visiting the practice.

We are not trying to be awkward, but we hope you understand we need to take every step to protect our team, especially through the winter months. There are staff shortages throughout the veterinary profession and we want to do all we can to ensure we continue to be here for your pets when you need us.

Thanks everyone 😊

***** Lockdown 3.0 Update *****
Following further guidance issued by the BVA and RCVS last night, we will temporarily be suspending routine booster vaccinations and healthchecks. Hopefully this will only be for a few weeks and we will notify you when we can recommence these so please don't worry.

Primary vaccination courses for puppies and kittens can still go ahead.

Providing veterinary care to your pets, even during this lockdown, is still our priority and we continue to be here for you if you have any health concerns at all with your pet. Appointments can still be booked at Windsor throughout the day plus one late night on a Thursday until 8pm. Bookings can be made at Ascot and Egham branches in the mornings but they will be closing at 1pm and midday respectively until further notice.

Food and medication should be ordered in advance by phone or by visiting our website http://www.foresthousevets.com/services/food-and-drug-ordering/
This includes any flea and worm treatment products.

This is a challenging time for us all and we feel it is important that we all do our part to help each other and the NHS. We are sorry if this causes any inconvenience to you.

Just to reiterate, we are still here 24hours a day, for any health concerns you have regarding your pet.

Thank you for your support and continued patience.
Stay safe and well ❤️

We would like to reassure our clients, following the announcent yesterday, that our services at the present time have not changed.
We continue to be here for you and your pets 24 hours a day with near normal service. We please ask all our clients to respect the social distancing measures in place, such as wearing a face covering and that only one person comes to the practice with your pet. You may also be asked to wait outside the building. It is vital that we protect our team so that we can continue to be here when you need us.

Again can we please remind clients to order all medication, including flea and worm treatments, and food in advance by visiting our website or by calling your chosen branch.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and patience. We will of course update you if there are any changes.

What a strange day for us all. We are sure, like us,
you are experiencing lots of different emotions.

Following the government announcement yesterday, we have had to re-evaluate our service provision both to adhere to the guidelines and to protect our staff.

We want to assure our lovely clients that we fully intend to continue to be here when you need us, by providing and emergency and urgent care service only in Windsor. Ascot and Egham branches are closed until further notice.

Routine appointments and procedures (vaccines, health checks, neutering etc) will be suspended until further notice.

For clients who already have an appointment booked, and have not been contacted this morning, please attend at the time you have arranged. By all means call ahead if you want to double check.

If you require an appointment going forwards, because your pet is unwell or has had an accident, please call (01753) 858877. We will initially be carrying out telephone appointments and the vet will decide if your pet needs to be seen.

We would ask you to please make us aware if anyone in your household is unwell or self isolating when making this appointment. Please understand that during this time we may ask you to wait in the car and take only your pet into the building.

We will still be taking orders for repeat medication and will ask for payment in advance of collection.

We are all doing our best to provide the very best service we can at this difficult time. Most importantly, we hope that our fantastic team and all our lovely clients stay well. Hopefully in the not too distant future we can get back to normal.

Any questions you may have can also be sent via email or Facebook message.

Take care everyone
Kind regards
Martin, Anne-Marie and the rest of the Forest House team ❤️ 🐾

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 17/3/20
Further to our message yesterday, we are still continuing to operate as usual. Following a practice meeting we would like to update you of some added measures we are introducing for the ongoing protection of our clients and staff:

- When booking an appointment, please advise our receptionist if you are unwell or self isolating (additional measures are required if this is the case)
- We ask that where possible that only one person attends with your pet
- When you arrive at the practice, please call us to advise you have arrived and wait in your car until you are advised to come in
- Please use the hand sanitisers provided
- We ask that you please respect a 2 metre distance from all members of staff or other clients
- We will be minimising the number of people in the waiting room so we may ask clients to wait outside if it becomes busy
- Clients popping into to collect medication or food can still do so
- We may ask for payments in advance for food, medication and hospitalised or surgical cases. This is to minimise use of the credit card machine and to save time at reception
- In normal circumstances, we love to chat to our clients, but at this time will need to manage the time spent in the practice so please be mindful of this
- Our open surgery at Windsor will be changed to appointments only from this week.
- It is likely some evening surgeries will be cancelled

In addition, if you are unable to get to the practice, we would like to offer free delivery of repeat medication or food. We can also offer free collection and return of your pet if they need to be seen by a vet or in some cases may be able to consult from a car at your home.

We want to continue to be here for your pets and hope that all these measures will help us to do this. Thank you all for your assistance.

We will of course update you on any further changes.

Take care and keep well

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
We would again like to reassure all our clients that we are currently open as usual and providing your pets with our normal 24 care.

We understand, especially with the government’s announcement today, that some of you will be concerned about leaving home or visiting the practice, however, your pet may still become unwell and need treatment or be on ongoing medication.

Firstly, we have stepped up all disinfection protocols including all door handles etc and provide hand sanitisers throughout the practice. If you are concerned about coming into the practice however, please wait in your car and call us to let us know you have arrived for your appointment.

Secondly, we would like to offer free of charge delivery of repeat medication and food. We ask please that you give us 24hours notice for this service. Also, should your pet need to see a vet and you are unable to visit the practice, we would like to also offer free collection and to return your pet home after they have been seen.

We hope this helps to put your mind at rest as we all do what we can to help each other at this challenging time

We will keep you updated of any further changes

Kind regards from the team

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
At the present time the practice is open as usual and offering our normal 24 hour service to our clients.
This will only change if there is a government directive or if circumstances mean that we forced to change our opening hours and staff cover. We have already had discussions as to how will continue to provide care for your pet's, should they require it during this time. We will of course keep you updated.

If you are diagnosed with Covid-19 please follow these guidelines in relation to your pet. More information can be found on the BVA and Government websites
- Please do not visit the practice, call if you need advice regarding your pet
- There is no evidence presently of transmission from animal to human or human to animal, however, one dog in Hong Kong has tested positive for Covid-19 and this is being investigated further
- BVA recommend those tested positive should restrict contact with their pets as a precaution and wash your hands before and after contact

Its important that we all follow sensible precautions at this time but try not to worry or panic. We are here if you need us.
