LOOKING FOR MORE LAMBING HELP

Thank you to everyone for sharing our previous post, we are now looking for help for another client.

Farm based near Hartington, Derbyshire, lambing approximately 250 Texel cross indoors.

Looking for help in the daytime for the weeks of Monday 22nd April and/or Monday 29th April, roughly 8am until 6pm. This role would suit someone with or without much lambing experience as long they are keen to work hard and learn (possibly a future vet student or similar).

Very good self-catering accommodation and money for food would be provided if helpful.

If interested, please drop Sam an email at [email protected] with your contact details and some information about yourself.

We're really looking forward to seeing you all at Brailsford Ploughing Match 2023 tomorrow! Please come and have a drink, butty and a couple of dozen cakes with us (Emma has been baking for days....). Chris will be hosting TB Advisory Service discussions throughout the day so seek him out in the tent to have a chat about proactively reducing your TB risk. Chris and Gemma carried out a TB Advisory Service visit earlier this week - we particularly focused on reducing TB risk from incoming stock and when grazing cattle at pasture.

Something a little different from tail or claw amputationsā€¦ after an altercation with a dog this calf had extensive damage and tissue loss to both the front and back of the ear. Gemma blocked the ear, gave metacam and antibiotics - cut through the small amount of tissue holding the ear on, tied off bleeding vessels and created a flap using the remaining skin. The now rather distinctive calf is back to his normal self.
