IT’S A RECORD POPPY COLLECTION – AGAIN

For the second year running, The Royal British Legion Ashbourne Branch has surpassed its best ever poppy collection total.

The total this year currently stands at £32,650. The totals from various supermarkets are still to be added, with these final donations being some months away in cascading to us.

This figure is more than £3,000 above last year’s total. It is a remarkable achievement as the 2023 figure was the best ever that we’ve achieved.

The branch, and Poppy collection team, wishes to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all those individuals and organisations who gave their time with street and house to house collections into the red tins.

Thank you too to those businesses, schools and other establishments who allowed collections to take place on their premises and to the residents and visitors of Ashbourne and District who have given so generously once again.

Brell Ewart, Branch President said “This record collection figure is down to to the hard work and planning by the Poppy team, led by Stuart Lees and supported by so many people. It really is an outstanding achievement and the whole town can be very proud of such a magnificent total.”
