Welcome to Oldfields Farm. We offer pet friendly self-catering accommodation just outside Ashbourne.

After 7 years, we have made the very difficult decision to stop running Oldfields Farm as a holiday cottage in January 2025, due to family health reasons. We have met so many lovely people, and dogs, over the years, and will miss living here ourselves, but it is the right time for a change.

We are preparing to make the whole property ready to be put on the market in Spring/Summer 2025. We really hope that whoever buys Oldfields Farm will choose to offer holiday accommodation and that many of our previous guests will be able to visit again, so please do keep following this page for any future updates.

Toby and Snowy have just stayed with us for the FOURTH time! They absolutely love our garden, and in the recent heatwave, it was the perfect place to cool down. And the patio next to the bedroom was the perfect place for their parents to have a morning cuppa!

Our guests last week didn't have the best weather but still made the most of their stay, visiting The Monsal Trail, Ilam Park, Carsington Water, and several other places. They also managed to enjoy the garden during some brief periods without rain!

We had a lovely trip to Tissington Village for the annual Well Dressings. Our favourite was the one for Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy. Which one do you like best?

Yesterday was the annual Snelston Village Duck Race, which was fabulous as ever. We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the sunshine at Elvaston Castle.

Look who arrived in our fields today. It's Ruby and her foal, Dave! Ruby is very much enjoying our carrots but it will be a while before Dave can have any. After saying 'hello' to them, we went to collect the eggs from our hens that will be in the next set of guest's welcome basket.

We love Dimmingsdale, and it was great to go there this week with Kip and Kelly from , who make the delicious doggy treats in our welcome basket. Kip loved being able to play in the stream and tried picking up some very big sticks! We finished the morning off with a bite to eat at in their dog friendly seating area.

Kali recently stayed with us after her human was recommended to stay at Oldfields Farm by some friends who are previous guests. She had a great time at Kedleston Hall, Carsington Water and lounging on the sofa but apparently there was too many hills and too much mud for her liking! 🤣

This morning, we went for a trip to Matlock Bath. It's certainly an unusual place as it feels like the seaside in the middle of the Peak District! We visited for some mini golf, had a go on the penny machines in the arcades and had a chippy lunch. A great way to spend a few hours and almost everywhere in Matlock Bath is dog friendly!

The stunning Alba and Ida stayed with us this week. They are the first doggy guests of this breed to stay with us. Can you guess what they are? They had a wonderful week watching pheasants and exploring the Tissington Trail.
