You might have noticed some dogs wearing yellow on their collars, leads, or bandanas—this is a friendly way of letting others know that the dog might be feeling anxious or nervous and needs a little extra space. It’s just a gentle reminder to approach slowly or give them some distance, helping them feel more comfortable in their surroundings.
🥺 If you have a nervous dog, there are lots of ways you can support them, and one of the best ways is through something called enrichment.
What is Enrichment?
🧠 Enrichment simply means giving your dog fun activities that keep their minds busy and their senses engaged, like puzzle toys, sniffing games, or interactive play. These activities help calm their nervous energy and give them something positive to focus on, which can make a big difference in how they feel.
🤗 It also helps build a stronger bond between you and your dog. When you play and explore new activities together, your dog starts to feel more secure and trusting, knowing they have your support. Over time, these little moments can even boost their confidence, making them feel more comfortable in their environment.
