A potentially useful development for the health and welfare of humans and dogs.

Dr. Karen Becker hosts discussions on the varying uses of cbd oils (FSHE- full spectrum h**p extract) alongside dosage and their interaction with other drugs....for anyone keen to learn more.

Bert the border terrier lives his life at 100mph and he can get over-stimulated by scent and tracking on walks.... which results in frantic on-leash behaviours.
We have been doing some weekly training walks to teach him how to check-in regularly and stay within the confines of the 10m lead to prevent pulling.
My shoulder feels much better this weekend so I think we're making progress.
Love him ❤️

Upping the ante by retrieving an item of value (phone).....internally I was praying he didn't drop it in the water bucket 🙈

Love how Frankie knows who it belongs to and what is expected from him ❤️

This behaviour is created by building strong bonds with the owner through positive reinforcement.

Taz has started a trend..new photo added is Storm (aka mufasa) 😍

would probably lose a finger and an eye if I tried to put my Ella in a Halloween costume.. so I will take the cowardly option and share a photo a client sent to me instead...

Lobster boy (aka Taz) 😍

Happy Halloween!

The tables turned and I received some training today 😯...on how to be a wheelchair user with a dog.

It was so interesting to experience service-dog training from my clients perspective and it hammered home just how reliable Frankie has to be in all scenarios 😬

So here we are nailing a loose lead walk with the chair but throw a random dog in to the mix and his training is quickly forgotten 😔...Watch this space to see his progress 👍

Thank you Carla for providing me with the opportunity... Hope I didn't scratch your alloys 😬

Look at the smiles on these two 😍... Matched only by the smile on my face

This is their first time meeting and Boris (on the right) used to show assertive fear-reactivity with any new dog... but these two hit it off immediately.

I was in bully heaven today with these gorgeous dogs 😍...

Frenchie, Boston terrier, Staffie and mastiff ... If you're going to do it... You may as well have one in every size 😂

I have to share this because it absolutely reflects my experience when talking to hundreds of dog owners.

I can't tell you if it's the quality of the raw food, lack of diversity in diet or an inability to digest raw proteins but I regularly see poor quality p**p and health issues in long term, raw fed dogs.

I find it frustrating because the science isn't wrong and processed kibble certainly isn't the answer.

I agree that we should focus on feeding a fresh and nutritious diet, tailoring that diet to suit the individual needs of our dog's, and be open to new information so that our dog's health is prioritised.

Just a few years ago, I had to battle against the vets recommendations to neuter dogs at 6months and now that's almost unheard of 😊... I'm hoping dog food will become less of a battle ground in the future. 🤞🤞

Dr. Karen Becker - "I am a raw-feeding veterinarian, and the worldwide veterinary community is buzzing with confusion and frustration for several reasons:

⚠️ The internet is filled with awful nutrition advice that lots of people blindly follow and inadvertently harm their animals. When their pets get sick, they don’t go back to the FB group where they got the terrible homemade diet meal plan, they go to their vet, who probably knows very little about fresh food diets because it’s Big Kibble companies that have the money to sponsor vet school nutrition curricula, so students only learn the basics about one food category: ultra-processed foods.

⚠️ Vets aren’t lying about these stats: It’s not uncommon for owners that try raw food diets to see problems, primarily gut issues, for LOTS of reasons that haven’t been thoroughly discussed or important details about the study results disclosed. Then media gets a hold of the study headlines and the story becomes even more twisted (and confusing).

⚠️ Evolving science requires doctors to learn, unlearn and relearn, all the time. The problem: many hard-core raw feeders would never consider changing their opinion based on solid science, which can result in compromised animal health and veterinarians around the world shouting, “RAW FOOD IS BAD!” And some raw feeding groups to become angry militants, demanding all members pledge allegiance to the ONE AND ONLY ONE food path FOR ALL ANIMALS EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. Their sole nutrition program is the ONLY option, and anyone suggesting anything else is stupid or a sell-out. There’s so much arguing and all-out wars amongst the fresh-feeding choir members that many folks have forgotten they’re fighting against kin in their own corner: the minimally processed, fresh food squad (with all of its wild diversity).

There are important reasons that we’re constantly bringing the latest studies to you, our fresh feeding community: we need to discuss what the research found and why. Understanding the details of emerging raw food research is important for many reasons, and that’s what Sunday’s LIVE podcast is about, with microbiome expert Dr. Holly Ganz.

We know many pets living in this stressed, polluted world have disrupted microbiomes🦠 and unhealthy guts. Often, this is why people try different pet foods in the first place.

But did you know that depending on what species of gut bacteria your animal has (or doesn’t have, after one round of antibiotics💊 in their lifetime) influences their ability to digest protein…which means if that animal begins a fresh, meat-based diet, all h🔥ll can break loose. And sometimes it does.

So for any would-be trolls👺 asking why we are fear-mongering, talking about the latest research results that could scare people away from a raw food diet: clear communication, rooted in science, actually dispels fear and brings clarity and confidence. Discussing how and why these results can happen is actually the path to less confusion and potential regrets.

Knitting together the avalanche of new science, and what it means for fresh food feeders wanting to maximize the health benefits from minimally processed/raw foods while minimizing risks and possible pitfalls is imperative to forward food motion, normalizing real, healthy food for all species."
