Cat groom. Had this elderly chap for a groom he’s been to me once before. He’s unfortunately not really grooming himself anymore so he had a bath and dry followed by brush through to remove the hair that needed to shed and a slight trim of nails. He’s really sweet bless him. He enjoys a fuss and a cat treat. He’s a bit on the weaker side with his back end due to age so had a lot of support and loving while being groomed.

Second visit for this normally nervous girl she can be nippy, her visit with me she did but I could see she wasn’t horrible with it, it’s been a few months since her last visit but she remembered happily came in came up to me and allowed fuss and was much better behaved and far less nervous this time around. Owners wanted a bath and shed and a bit of a tidy up (whatever I could manage until she’d had enough as she also an older dog) she did much better on her second visit with me. Enjoyed some treats and fuss. No muzzle needed I always try to build confidence and trust so that they aren’t needed but will use them if I really need to.

Another one of my gorgeous boy for a full groom, he’s been to me about 3 times still very much learning as still a pup and extremely fidgety but he’s learning some
Dogs just take longer than others to understand so it’s a labour of
Love and patience putting them back into position and praising and rewarding when they stay there for a few moments and repeat. He just wants love and fuss and I’m happy to oblige. He also loves playing with my cat(she doesn’t see the dogs unless we know they are ok)
❤️🥰😍

Love this boy, he’s a regular but very young been to me a few times, he just runs into my house now when he come which is brilliant. Such a lovely boy I could cuddle him all day. Full groom but a longer cut as the owner prefers this in fact we may have a little longer at the next one. She’s very good at looking after his coat.
❤️🥰😍

First time with me for this cute boy, he’s a mix of a few things. Owner was very nervous and concerned that he would be nervous and nippy. She informed me he had to be sedated for his nails and wouldn’t let anyone do legs and face apparently he screams if you touch his feet and nails and throws himself around and yes he did just that but I worked on him a little held his feet and stroked him until he stopped and calmed then put them down praised and repeated. He wasn’t easy by any means but no muzzle needed I managed to cut his
Nails (not as much as I’d like but working on him and more important to build trust and his nails are not curling under his feet anymore) and trim his face and legs. Let’s see what we can achieve at the next appointment. He was happy at the end and a really nice dog ❤️😍🥰

First visit for this handsome boy, owners advised he could be nippy and provided a muzzle but He was good as gold, gave me a warning at one point but stopped when I said no not nice and gave me licks instead. Didn’t need the muzzle at all. I always try to build trust and confidence so that they aren’t needed. He loved a fuss and enjoyed his treats. He had a full groom, bath dry, ear cleanse and a light trim/tidy all over. Did really well for his first visit. ❤️🥰😍

Full groom for this lovely old girl, she’s been to me a few times is a regular now, owners like her very short as she gets itchy when her fur is longer, she’s not great at having her face done so it’s a case of doing what I can that is safe for her as last thing we want is scissor cuts etc but she’s definitely improved over time. She used to try and bite but she just fidgets a lot now she’s defiantly bonded with me though and she’s still improving. 🥰😍❤️

These shih tzu boys crack me up, one barks if give the other one attention and not him and the other one paws at me if I’m giving my attention to the one that barks 🤪😂😍their 3rd time With me they’ve made a lot of progress wouldn’t let me do much with their faces, legs and feet on the their first visit without having an objection and they were very wriggly, they are still a bit wriggly but are way better, they love me and I them so that helps, I can do a lot more with their faces now and although they are still very munching dancing re legs and feet they are gradually getting there so the improvement is huge. Love these boys 😍🥰❤️

My updated terms and conditions for those that are interested.

Pennys pooch palace

Terms and conditions for grooming.

Owners are responsible for letting the groomer know if there have been any issues in or out of grooming that may affect behaviour, the groom or the safety of the groomer or dog both in behaviour and also any health issues including if the dog has ever bitten nipped or tried to bite anyone.
Also if there is anything that they know of or have been told that may trigger the dog.

The owner is responsible to advise the groomer before attending the appointment if the dog has fleas and they are aware. A dog that has fleas may be sent home, and the full groom price charged for the appointment that another dog could have had, Or a charge for treating the fleas with flea shampoo (which only kills what is currently on the dog and not the fleas and eggs that will undoubtedly be in the owners home and car) the groomer also has to treat their environment for the safety of other dogs which can affect the business and appointments of the groomer.

Owners are not to knock or ring the door bell earlier than their appointment time as this may affect the groomers break, tidy time or the current dog being worked on.
Owners are expected to be no later for drop off than 5-10 minutes of their appointment time.
If owners they are running late or going to be late they are to phone the groomer to let them know verbally to ensure the message is received. If the owner is going to be late it may affect the groom time meaning there isn’t enough time to complete the groom so the groomer may need to reschedule the appointment but this depends on the bookings following and how late the owner is going to be.

Unless pre arranged with the groomer that they will be late for pickup the owner is to arrive at the arranged time that the groomer has given as an approximate collection time. If the owners are late to arrive for collection they must phone the groomer to let them know.
If the owner is later than 10 minutes past the collection time and the groomer is finished with the dog a late fee will be charged. (Pennys pooch palace is not a dog sitting service and people arriving late can affect groom appointments after theirs or the groomers cleaning / breaks/ family time and closing time) this is at the groomers discretion but will be a minimum of £5 for the first minutes over the 10 minute allowance up to 15mins and £1 a minute thereafter. Unless the groomer deems that a charge isn’t necessary.

Collection times given by the groomer are an approximate time that the dog will be ready , it is possible that the dog is not quite done depending on how the groom has gone and how the dog has behaved. it may be that the owner will
Need to wait a little but the owner is still expected to arrive at the time given by the groomer unless the groomer has agreed to a different time.

Owners are expected to allow / encourage the dog to carry out their toileting business before coming up the path leading to the groomers front door, especially after any kind of car journey and pick up any leavings the dog may have produced.

If owners bring a dog that has obvious matting and the groomer has not been advised at the time of booking the appointment may need to be rescheduled to allow for appropriate time needed as these grooms often need longer and can be delicate. Sometimes more than one appointment will be needed for the dogs comfort. Matted grooms are for comfort of the dog and may not necessarily be an attractive groom as they may involve shaving very short or having different length of fur in different places depending on the amount of matting and the tightness of it also the tolerance level of the dog. Matted grooms are for kindness. Matting is unlikely to be able to be brushed out and is painful for the dog, the groomer will not put the dog through unnecessary pain of prolonged matting removal to save the coat under the animal cruelty act, the dog will be shaved to an appropriate length which means going under the matting with the clippers to remove it, this may be extremely short. The hair will grow back. The groomer will not accept responsibility for any nicks, friction burns caused by close shaving or bruising caused by the restricted blood returning as this procedure is more delicate and the situation would not occur without the dog getting to the condition of needing a matted shave which is the owners responsibility as is the maintenance between grooms.
Matting will incur an extra charge to the groom price.

If a dog is aggressive towards the groomer to the point of it being a safety issue to the groomer or dog or if the dog becomes so stressed that it’s not possible to continue the groom for health and safety reasons to both parties the owner may be required to collect the dog with the groom incomplete. If possible a plan of action to move forward will be discussed and agreed upon between owner and groomer. The price of the groom is still
Payable unless the groomer deems otherwise.

Owners must give at least 48 hours notice to change an appointment or cancel the appointment. Failure to do
So will mean that the deposit if they have paid one will be kept, to book a future groom the deposit may increase to cover loss of earnings instead of the lower deposit previously required.

The groomer checks over the dog when grooming so may notice or identify issues relating to health they will notify the owner if something is found within the groom so that the owner can address this with a vet as this is not something the groomer can advise on and can only suggest they visit a professional to get things checked. The groomer will not accept responsibility for conditions health issues or infections identified as the groomer brings these to the attention of the owner to have these seen to if needed and are not caused by the groomer.
If there are any illness or issues caused by the groomer without a doubt and the groomer is aware the groomer will be open and honest and advise the owner of the issue. If the owner has proof of vet treatments in terms of a bill/ invoice of treatment from the vet and the fault is without doubt with the groomer (not including matted shaves as this is the responsibility of the owner to prevent) the groomer will accept responsibility of paying the vet bill for example if the dogs ear is cut during grooming by scissors and needs stitches. (Not happened as yet so hopefully won’t) The groomer will administer first aid if able and needed

It is the owners responsibility to help the dog with various training and teaching at home to help the dog feel more relaxed about grooming such as touching feet, nails, brushing, sounds of hoover and hairdryer. If the owner does not do this the groom may not be as successful as the dog may not sit as well during the process. The groomer will do their best but will not accept responsibility if the owner has not been able to keep up their side regarding maintenance or desensitising.

Pennys pooch palace accepts card payments, Apple Pay, and cash full payment is required on collection. Failure to pay is theft of services and will be treated seriously with further action taken if needed.

Photos and videos of your dog may be taken before during or after the groom and sent to the owner and /or used for social media and the business website unless owners raises an objection to this with the groomer and has this documented, no dog names or owner names will be used in any postings unless first used by the owner or consent given.

Owners are required to inform the groomer no later than 72 hours after the groom if they are not satisfied where possible the groomer will try to rectify the problem or make notes for future grooms to accommodate the owner.
No refunds will be given as services, time and skills have been given.
