The second walk of the morning, this time with Jess, Paddy and JJ. The sea was magnificent, but high tide meant that we were walking on shingle, and pebbles, which made the going a bit rough. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves though.
A lovely day on the beach today. This video was shot during the second walk, featuring Jess, Paddy, and JJ. The first walk was on Drigg beach, and Maple, Jemma and Rio had a lovely time. Toyt had her short walk going around the recreation ground, and was glad to find some scrumptious rabbit poo!!!
Jess obviously thought that her Daughter (Jemma) needed a good face wash this morning!
Maple, Jemma, and Rio having a lovely play just after their morning beach walk. Toyt watching all the fun.
Jess, Maple, Jemma, and Rio enjoying their Morning beach walk. You'll notice that Maple thinks all this ball fetching is a stupid waste of energy!
Just back from second beach walk, in not so pleasant weather this morning. However, I clearly failed miserably to tire Jemma and Rio out!
Another lovely early morning beach walk with Maple, Jess, Jemma, Paddy, and JJ. Those of you who know our dogs will know that JJ is Dad of Maple, Jemma, and Paddy, and husband of Jess (who is Jemma's Mum). Back from second and third walks now, so all seven have had their daily exercise.
Walk #1 this morning. Once again, we had the beach to ourselves, baring in mind that we set off at 7.15. They enjoyed several dips in the sea, and as you'll have noticed, Maple wasn't in a hurry to get out! Second and third walks now completed, so the rest of the day is my own.
A very common situation during our morning beach walks. Dead Dog Fish are often washed up on the shore. I guess that they have little or no commercial value, so are discarded when caught. However, they're a huge temptation to hungry Labradors! Paddy (here) has a very keen nose, so finds them constantly. If I'd managed to get my phone out faster, I'd have captured video of Jemma and Paddy having a tug of war with the unfortunate fish (a member of the Shark family). The dogs would eat them regardless of their condition. Decomposition doesn't put them off, so I do my best to stop them!
Jackie and I would like to wish a very HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY to:- WILBUR, TED, EVIE, MOLLY, COCO, NELLY, CADBURY, and last but not least MAPLE (who will have cake later).
Your lovely Mum and Dad also send their love along with licks, and slobbery kisses.
We're certain that you'll all be spoilt rotten today. So enjoy your special day, and make the most of all the treats, and hugs. ###
A beautiful Summers morning, and the dogs have been enjoying a cool down in the sea, and rock pools. This was walk number two. Jemma and Maple had already enjoyed an earlier walk with Paddy, and JJ, but elected to join Rio on his walk too. They both enjoy retrieving the ball that I have to throw for them. So they'd been in and out of the sea for about 3 miles. Maple isn't a ball fetcher! Like her Mum (Toyt), she prefers a more leisurely walk, with an occasional wallow in a pool, or in the surf.
Toyt, and Jess enjoying their late morning walk. Toyt does very well for a 13 year old. This is the shortest of the three daily beach walks, but she manages about a mile a day.
