Our practice serves pet owners in Atherton, Tyldesley, Leigh, Hindley, Wigan, Walkden, Worsley, Bolton and Westhoughton as well as surrounding areas. Our vets, nurses and support staff are all here to help you with your pet’s health and welfare. Should your pet require any surgical treatment we are well equipped here. From minor procedures through to a range of more complex orthopaedic and soft tissue operations. From TODAY it is a legal requirement to have your cat microchipped and their details up to date.

Cat owners have 21 days to make sure they are compliant or they could face a fine of up to £500!

If you need to get your cat microchipped, double check that it is done already or check the details are up to date do not hesitate to contact us on 01942 876873 and make an appointment with one of our nurses who can assist you with this.

Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month

✨ VETERINARY NURSE AWARENESS MONTH ✨ This year marks the 20th anniversary of VNAM, which is organised by the BVNA to celebrate Veterinary Nurses and the crucial role they play in practice. 🐶🐱

🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE 🎄 You may have seen our post a few weeks ago that we needed pictures for our sponsored Christmas Tree.. well here it is! We have shown a small selection of your babies on this video, but be assured they are all on there looking festive as ever! Remember, you can go and view our Christmas tree as well as a range of other beautifully decorated trees that have been sponsored by other local businesses! There will also be a chance to enter an exciting raffle with amazing prices including family tickets to RHS Bridgewater, a case of wine, pamper treatments and many more. The trees will be on display at: St Marks Church, Worsley Brow, Worsley, M28 2WH Starting on the 26th November it will run for 3 weekends. Saturdays: 10am - 2pm Sunday: 2pm - 4pm. Don't worry though, if you are unable to attend the festival as when it has ended the tree will come back to the practice and be on display in our waiting area over the Christmas period. ☃

Do you know the signs of heatstroke?

Watch out for Heat Stroke. Tips to keep your dogs and cats cool: - Always provide/carry cool water for your pet - Never leave your dog alone in a car - over heating can happen very quickly! - Only walk your dog at dusk and dawn when it is much cooler and keep walks to a minimum. - Provide shade and access to the indoors - Provide plenty bowls of cool water in different areas of the house - Freeze water bottles or provide cool mats - Never leave your dog standing on hot ground. Their body can heat up very quickly and their paws can burn. - Be extra careful with old, poorly and overweight animals in hot weather. - Apply waterproof suncream spf 30 to prominent areas, especially ears and noses in white or bald dogs and cats. - Make ice treats or make frozen stuffed kong toys. If you suspect that your pet has heat stroke, call us on 01942 876873 as soon as possible. Remember to never immerse your pet in cold water as this can lead to shock.
