☀️Heatwave Hacks☀️
The last few weeks have certainly kept us dog walkers on our toes! 🥵 Thank goodness for the recent cooler temperatures 🌡️
When temperatures do rise, every decision I make is with one priority in mind: keeping your dogs safe, happy and comfortable.
That has meant adapting usual routines with things like:
🐶 Earlier walks before the heat
💙 Cooling bandanas
🌳 Plenty of shaded routes
🌱 Walking on grass instead of hot pavements
💧 Regular water stops and paddles in the river
🏡 Garden visits, paddling pools, enrichment and play when it was simply too hot to walk safely
Every dog is different, and every day has been assessed based on the weather and what’s safest for them. Sometimes that has meant changing plans completely, but I’d much rather adjust a walk than put a dog at risk.
A huge thank you to all of my wonderful clients for trusting my judgement and being so understanding and flexible with earlier start times, rearranged walks and swapping to home visits where possible. Your support makes it possible for me to always put your dogs’ welfare first.
