I love animals. My dogs are my world, and I'd be lost without them. Pip was my absolute soul dog, and he's part of the reason I set up Lauren's pet services 🐾 spaniels are my favourite breed, particularly cocker spaniels 🧡

A big thing for me is knowing that my pets are happy, healthy, and well cared for. They don't always love going to the vets, so any treatments they can have at home the happier they are. I understand how stressful it can be for some pets to have to leave the comfort of their home, so that's why I offer mobile visits.

🐾Diabetes advisor
🐾Oral care nurse certificate
I'm currently undertaking a canine mobility certificate and a nutrition diploma

I absolutely love working with animals and although it can be hard work at times (especially during storms like this weekend!), I wouldn't change it at all. Being around animals is definitely my happy place

Important to be careful ❗️

❗️ANTIFREEZE ALERT❗️

Now the weather is getting colder as we head into winter, the antifreeze will soon, if not already, be making an appearance🥶

We must, however, be super cautious when using antifreeze due to being a serious toxin for cats and dogs⚠️

Antifreeze contains a chemical called ‘ethylene glycol’ which can attract the sweet tooth of our pets which in turn can have fatal effects, so we need to protect them as much as possible❤️

Symptoms of potential antifreeze ingestion include but are not limited to:
❄️ Lethargy
❄️ Seizures
❄️ Difficulty breathing
❄️ Vomiting
❄️ Increased drinking and urinating
❄️ Loss of coordination

If you suspect your pet has ingested antifreeze, do not hesitate to contact your veterinary practice to seek potential urgent veterinary care🩺

It's a cold one out there today ❄️

Winter checklist
❄️ ensure water buckets aren't frozen over
❄️ rug any animals that may suffer with the cold/those that have been clipped
❄️ keep bedding fresh and clean
❄️ give plenty of hay to those that may need it if the grass is frozen
❄️animals may need extra food so stock up
❄️ regular foot checking
❄️ keep on top of grooming

Don't forget to wrap up warm yourself and be careful on the ice 🧊
