Gleneagles Equestrian School is a high end riding school and training centre situated in Perthshire in the heart of Scotland. We provide first class riding lessons and can cater for all ages and abilities from 4yrs upwards and from the total beginner to advanced riders. Our 26 riding school horses range from tiny Shetland ponies to ex CCI** eventers, 1.20 show jumpers and elementary dressage horse

s. You can take riding lessons to specialise in dressage, show-jumping, cross-country, to improve your general skills, or just because you want a new hobby! For students of BHS exams our BHS exam preparation courses, Intensive Training courses and evening classes are invaluable.

That’s it folks! With all this rain we have decided now is the time to close the cross country course for hires. Thank you so much to everyone that has come and trained and competed with us this year.

📣New Charlie Hutton clinic date📣

Charlie will be back with us on the 7th of November for all those keen to get on with their winter training in a heated (true story 😮) indoor arena with training mirrors.

2024 competition season over 😢

Here are your times for the Hunter trials this weekend. 🏇🏻

🐴 Please arrive via the entry off the A823 (straight over the mini roundabout and 1st on the left). Secretary will be in the horsebox at the gate, please declare you have arrived. 🫡

🐴 All competitors to bring their own bib and number. If hand writing please make sure it’s big and bold enough for our fence judges to read it when you pass them at pace 🏎️

🐴 There is no access to the Gleneagles Sporting Club (old arena building) Toilets are outside on the right hand side of the building (looking from the carpark) opposite the Trail Yard. Don’t worry, they are still heated 😃

🐴 Unfortunately we have been unable to secure a caterer so there will be no food or drinks avalible on site. Please do bring your own drinks and snacks!

🐴 The course is available to walk from 2pm on Saturday 🚶

See you on Sunday 🥳

Entries close midday tomorrow for our last Hunter trial of the year this coming Sunday.

The cross country course is now closed to hires until after the competition. We will reopen to hires until November depending on ground conditions.

Only a few more days of cross country course hire available before we close the course ahead of competition prep for the last Hunter trial of the year.

Course hire £35 per horse for 90mins.

Both course hire and entries for the Hunter trial on the 29th are through Equo 🏇🏻

14.2hh to 15.2hh, 10yo or over. Temperament is the most important thing and must be super easy to handle and a comfortable armchair ride.

Budget 5k to 7k.

Aimed at young and green horses and riders or those just wanting to learn more about how to produce your horse for a working Hunter class. This is ran like a show with our lovely Showing guru, Paige, giving you plenty of tips to help you along the way 🥰

We are looking for a new home for gorgeous and kind 11yo mare Tilly.
She would suit a hacking home where she can be adored. We are so sad to see her go and only selling as she is not 100% sound when in full work, doing lots of circles in an arena. Tilly is great in all ways except for clipping which we sedate her for. Asking 25🥕🥕.

So proud of the whole team in helping host the first ever Pony Club ‘A’ test in Scotland.

The Pony Club Area 1 Scotland, hosted its first ever PCUK A Test yesterday. It was held at The Gleneagles Sports & Equestrian Centre in Auchterarder.

Horses were provided by private owners and Gleneagles for the Test Day. This was a first ever in Area 1 Scotland and has widened access to this high level certification.

The day was organised by Dr Will Harrison (PCUK Chief Assessor Scotland) and Mrs Sue Cheape (PCUK Area 1 Representative).

The A Test is recognised as a stand alone qualification, but also allows holders access to the BHS Stage 5 assessments.

BHS stage 1 and 2 training at Gleneagles 🥳

We run weekly sessions during term time for BHS stage training.

Stage 1 Wednesday 10am-12pm
Stage 2 Friday 2pm-4pm

Each session consists of 1 hour ride session and a 1 hour care session. Max 4 candidates per group. £100 per week. Pick and choose what week you come to or come for all!!

Stage 1 and stage 2 assessments taking place in spring 2025 🤓

Mike Whippey Clinic

What a great Mike clinic yesterday. Star of the day goes to Iona. At lunchtime she was in an RDA session, 2 hours later she’s being ridden by Mhairi in stage 4 flat work training. The most versatile horse in our stable 🥰 #cobscan #dontjudgeabookbyitscover

Last couple of spaces left on the Gregor Knox clinic tomorrow night. Chance to jump the simulated XC jumps focusing on skinnies and accuracy in the warm and dry. Bookable through Equo 🤩

Making the most of the heated indoor arena for our first Gregor Knox clinic of the year 🥶 Skinnies ✔️ Corners ✔️ Ditches ✔️ Angled lines ✔️ It’s amazing what you can learn in an hour! Gregor will be with us the first Tuesday evening of every month, clinics will be up on Equo to book into over the next few days. Once the light allows we will be outside so he can get us galloping, his words not mine! 🏇🏻

We are all starting to come out of hibernation and excited for the up coming season so nows the time for some training! Coming up we have: David Gatherer cross country clinics 20th feb and 14th March. £53 per rider, 90mins lesson and max 5 per group. Gregor Knox evening indoor simulated cross country clinic over our fabulous new jumps in the video on the 1st March. £40 per rider, 60min lesson and max 3 per group. The cross country course will be open for hire for the 1st 2 weeks of March with access to over 30 new gorgeous cross country jumps. £35 per rider for 90mins access.
