Have you dewormed your pet recently? πͺ±
Dogs and cats get tapeworms by swallowing a flea infected with a tapeworm larvae, often while grooming themselves. The larval tapeworm will then develop into an adult tapeworm in the animal's intestines. The segments of the adult tapeworm, proglottids, break off and pass in the animal's stool.
Pets with worms can be lethargic. They may lack energy or seem to have less interest in things that usually excite them. This is due to worms feeding off off their stomach tissue, which stops them from being able to absorb all the vital nutrients they get from their foods.
Puppies & kittens β initial treatment at 2 weeks, repeat every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age. Repeat monthly until 6 months old, then start on an adult schedule of every 3 months for life.
Ask your Vet or Vet nurse for a deworming medication suited for your pets weight range today!
