New beginnings
When I started work as a groom at Mill House Stud as it was then known back in 1985, who would have thought it would take me nearly 34 years to leave! Mill House Stud was a successful Anglo and Part Bred Arab stud owned by Gillie Wright. Our main stallion, Sahibi, was the most beautiful liver chestnut of Crabbet breeding, put to TB mares we bred for showing. As the horses grew up I rode them not only at County level showing but racing, eventing and dressage. A number were also successful endurance horses one, Hillside Farouk, was ridden with much success by Yvonne Tyson. My job there was as crew as hacking long distances was never my strong point.... to be continued
