☺️Here are a few updates as you may have spotted some new signs up at the main Halton practice.

🐴Earlier this year the equine part of WHVC merged with another fantastic local equine vet practice to create Wendover Park Equine Vets.

Meet the team here: https://www.wendoverparkequinevets.co.uk/

🐾Our on-site Wendover Heights Canine Rehabilitation unit has had a brand new hydrotherapy treadmill installed.

🐴 These last couple of days our vets Ben and Ana attended the annual BEVA (British Equine Veterinary Association) congress in Liverpool with lectures on the latest updates in equine medicine and orthopaedics. 📚

Did you know that vets have to do a minimum of 35 hours per year of CPD (continuing professional development)? 🐴

🌟 Welcome to Wendover Park Equine Vets 🌟

A dedicated equine-only practice opened in 2024 to care for the horses, ponies and donkeys of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We offer comprehensive first opinion equine veterinary services on the road backed up with a fully equipped clinic providing inpatient care, diagnostic and operating facilities.

The name may be new but Wendover Park Equine is built on the partnership between two long established practices – Wendover Heights Equine at Halton, founded in 1965, and Park Vets in Watford which boasts over a hundred and twenty years of history. The combined team of caring and professional equine vets, nurses and support staff have a wide range of experience and skills to give the best of care to you and your horses.
We work from both sites with Clinical Director Ben Wakeling and Senior Vet Charlotte Giles leading the team of five further vets, three registered veterinary nurses and an equine technician.
Equine Co-ordinators Michelle and Natasha will still be the friendly and efficient first points of contact when you need us while Practice Manager, Georgina Nixon RVN, will ensure the smooth running of the practice.

🌟You can find out more about the team, facilities and services provided on our new website - www.wendoverparkequinevets.co.uk. Existing Wendover Heights and Park Equine clients should have received a service letter informing them of these changes. If you have not yet seen this, please view the link attached www.whvc.co.uk/equine-practice-merge-rebrand.
If you have any questions about the merge please feel free to contact our office and we will be very happy to help.🌟

❗️️Please be aware of changes to our opening hours and phone service️ -
Our office opening times have now changed, our calls will be answered in the office between the hours of 8.30am - 5.30pm. We will be running our emergency service between 5.30pm - 8.30am Monday - Friday and ALL weekend.
We will no longer be in the Halton office between 8.30am - 1pm on Saturday mornings.
❗️For clients collecting medication, the main reception areas in the small animal department at both WHVC Halton and Park Vets Watford will remain open between 8.30am - 6.30pm Monday-Friday.
Saturdays - WHVC Halton 8.30-1pm and Park Vets Watford 9am-12pm.
For our branch surgeries - WHVC Merrilaw (Prestwood) and Park Vets Leavesden (Abbots Langley) please refer to the small animal websites for open times or ask a member of staff when arranging things to collect.

❗️The main office contact number remains the same for previous Wendover Heights Equine clients but is new for Park Equine clients. The original Park Equine number is being diverted over to our new number but please make note of this change.
Some of our clients who also have small animals, may have our small animal office number saved, please make sure you have taken note of the new specific equine number 😊

And finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients for their continued support and bearing with us whilst these two teams merge together.
We look forward to working with you all in the future to make sure your horses receive the best veterinary care possible 🐴

Kind regards
Georgina Nixon RVN + Practice Manager

Mini Mouse has passed (never in any doubt she wouldnt 🥰)

The lovely Cameron from Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre checked Mouses’ eyes, heart, lungs, temperature and teeth. She also assessed her overall health, condition, legs and checked her movement for lameness and was delighted to pass her with flying colours!!

Just the updated Council license and Insurance to wait for now and then Mouse will be able to start visting our wonderful care home residents and support clients through EAL

Oh and Molly and Nipper survived their vaccinations too 🙈🤣🤣
