Nothing to do with dog walking or sitting but ...

We have two additions to our menagerie, Sophia (on the feisty side) and Gloria (soon to be glorious)!

They are courtesy of Fresh Start for Hens. They are saved and rehomed once they are deemed too old and not profitable 😢. Fresh Start do a fantastic job of saving these girls. So welcome to the flock ladies (well after a period of settling in!)

🐶 Safe Socially Distanced Dog Walks - Starting in Spring 2025 Aylesbury Bucks area and possibly Slapton Beds

You can choose from a 30 minute or a 60 minute walk with us within a small group of up to 10 guardians and their dogs. The idea of the group is for you and your dog to be within a group of others who will keep a safe distance away from each other so your dogs can learn to feel more at ease with walking with others who will not encroach their space. The location of these walks will vary across the town. £10 for 30 minutes and £20 for an hour. You will also learn some techniques to support your dogs during the walk.

These walks are suitable for the majority of dogs but will really benefit puppies, dogs who are fearful and dogs who may get overexcited in the presence of people and or dogs. There will be an over the phone assessment prior to be accepted onto walks as this group may not be suitable for all dogs.

All dogs must be kept on a short lead. No play please. All dogs ideally must wear a well fitting harness or a flat collar. No slip leads, prongs, flexi leads or long lines please. This is a positive only group

As we get close to Christmas it's worth taking 10 minutes to do a little bit of preparation to avoid illness and drama over Christmas. We've done a little checklist for you and will be sharing information to help keep your dog well over Christmas.

These are all simple little jobs to do now that would make an emergency situation easier to handle. I also think it's a universal rule that if you prepare for a problem - the problem never comes up.

We hope you don't need to call your vets but knowing how to and where they are can make a big difference. You may also have free telephone vets on your insurance. Do you know that number and your policy number?

Your vet may experience difficulty with routine medicine prescription during times of closure and less staff working so check now you have everything you need to get to the first working Monday of 2025.

Checking dog tags have the correct numbers can help if you go away or if your dog gets spooked by fireworks etc.

I took Ava there for a nail trim and the staff were fantastic when she started to shout, very loudly! They are kind, compassionate and professional. They calmed both me and Ava without ever being judgemental and that means a lot when you have a barky GSD!!

They suggested visiting periodically between trims to help with Ava's (and mine 😆) anxiety. We have been doing this.....
