Hart Vets Waddesdon Improving the lives of pets and their owners Hart Vets Waddesdon cares for pets in Aylesbury and the surrounding villages.

Our mission is to improve the lives of pets and their owners. We are dedicated to providing quality affordable health care with compassion. We care for your pets the same way we would want our own pets to be cared for. Our Waddesdon Aylesbury veterinary surgery is small and friendly. We like to get to know our patients and our small size helps ensure our clients see familiar faces when they visit.

Although we are small, our facilities and equipment rival and exceed many larger practices. For example, we have digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy on site. We also have our own in house lab to allow rapid diagnosis, and anaesthetic monitoring equipment like used in human hospitals. We use fluid pumps for all patients requiring fluid therapy which is much safer. Separate cat and dog wards reduce stress for our patients. We operate on-site Monday- Friday in our purpose designed operating theatre. We have an experienced team of vets and veterinary nurses. Hart Vets Waddesdon was independently inspected by the RCVS last September and is accredited as a Small Animal Practice. Our veterinary hospital in Bicester is one of only 150 practices in the country that have met the stringent requirements set by the RCVS to be accredited as a Small Animal Veterinary Hospital. Our out of hours emergency service is provided by our own vets and nurses at our veterinary hospital in Bicester. 🚽 This adorable girl has been having some bladder issues recently and when we x-rayed her it was clear why. Megs had a large stone in her bladder about 10cm wide! 😯

🐾 Megs underwent a procedure called a cystotomy to remove the stone and it was sent for testing to determine which type of urinary crystals have formed to make the stone, otherwise known as a urolith.
🔬🪨 The results were positive and with a change in diet hopefully Megs won't have any more bladder stone issues.

If your cat’s curiosity leads to a bee sting, don’t panic!
Most stings are mild, but some need a vet’s help, especially around the face or if they’ve had a reaction before.
Keep calm, apply a cold compress, and contact us for further advice.

🌾🌾 Keep an eye out for grass seeds this summer. 🌾🌾

Grass seeds can cause a lot of pain for dogs, especially if they get stuck in paws, ears, or eyes after a run through long grass.

Look out for signs like:
🐾 Constant licking or limping
🐾 Shaking their head or rubbing their ear
🐾 Sneezing fits or sore, swollen eyes

Left untreated, a grass seed can even work its way under the skin. This can require surgery for removal.

🌞 During summer the pavement's can get VERY hot. Avoid the heat by walking your dog before 8am or after 8pm. Check the pavement and if you can't hold the back of your hand their for 7 seconds then it is too hot for your dog's paws. 🐾 🐶

❗️Remember no dog will die from skipping a walk but dogs can and do die from heatstroke.

🕓 In just 20 minutes a dog could die in a hot car.
🌡 Winding down the window does very little to decrease the temperature in your car.
