A simple and fun activity I enjoy doing with anxious dogs before their groom is scattering treats around the salon and hiding them in towels. This encourages the dogs to engage in "sniffing," which offers great psychological benefits.

Sniffing not only redirects their focus but also triggers calming signals in their brain, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

Just a few minutes of this treat-hunting before starting their grooming routine I find makes all the difference!

For me, as a groomer - it’s just as important to focus on how your dog feels, along with how they look too. ☺️

Raw chews to include Pizzles, Yak Bars, Bully braids, Ostritch strips. Horns, Tracheas, Carrots.. etc

All of which are available on-site at Mcgrumpy & Snuffles.
They’ve got a great pick a mix selection, dogs are welcome inside, and they offer raw feed consultations, make sure you check them out. 🐶😁

To everyone who's been asking, my 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 diary is finally here! 🎉

For now, I'm only opening up appointments next year for January.

🎄 Additionally, please note that I will be finishing up for the year on Christmas Eve and returning to work on January 13th. This marks the first time since starting my business that I'll be closing for two full weeks.

Make sure to keep track of your appointments, as they may need to be rescheduled either earlier or later.

🦷🤩 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 🦷🤩 Amazing what can be achieved in 1 x 45 minute initial session. No Noise, No sedation required..

Introducing 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐲, the beautiful rescue with a flair for dramatic entrances at the groomers! 🌟 Breaks slammed on, attempts of wriggling out the harness , and even being lifted up the stairs as we’re led to believe her legs have stopped working – it seems like Daisy's auditioning for a West End Production! 😅 But once her mum bids farewell, Daisy reveals her true colours as relaxes in the salon. Not all dogs are a fan of leaving their owners. Jordan’s personal top tip: Resisting the urge to kiss, cuddle and keep going back to your anxious dog might feel tough, but it's the kindest thing you can do. 🐶 Constant reassurance from you can unintentionally reinforce anxiety behaviors. From personal experience, I've found that a quick drop-off and departure can often be the best remedy, and I will work with your dog when in the salon to ensure they are as comfortable as possible, reporting back at the end on how they were 🥰

Introducing your puppy to grooming at an early age is crucial. During the puppy groom I aim to build confidence and make it fun. Early exposure helps puppies become accustomed to the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming, ensuring they grow into well-adjusted and cooperative companions
