Cleo cat update

''Hi,

Cleo had a few milestones over the past couple of days,

She had a supervised meeting with my neighbours cat ‘Buzz’ by the back door, which seemed moderately friendly. A little hiss , very low level and I’m not sure which of the 2 it was, I suspect it was Cleo. Then a few nose bops. No loo brush tails and no fluffing up. So very positive I thought.

She likes watching the flying toys (mostly robins, starlings an pigeons) and has been sitting underneath the bird table. She like sitting outside but not for too long. She likes watching them from the warm comfort of one of her beds, the attached made me laugh when I caught her mid yawn. ''

''Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year at Blackberry Farm.
Have had my little Ralphie (was Peanut) for over a year now. He is the best present that I could wish for. He is like my shadow, always behind me (not spoilt at all)!!!!!

I wish all the dogs get a happy home, they deserve it what they have been through.

Love Carole and Ralphie 🐶###''

Update from Spooky Cat;

''Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that Spooky has settled in well. After the initial three hours under the coffee table, he came out (with the help of Dreamies) and has been an affectionate boy since. He likes laps, tickles and the bed!''

Update from Molly dog;

''Molly and I wanted to say a very big Merry Christmas to all the lovely team and pets at Blackberry Farm. We hope this time of year is filled with as much happiness and as many new homes as possible.

We have sent you a little donation via your Amazon wishlist. We've tried to select high-priority items where we can. It looks like these will arrive today and tomorrow. We hope these help and are enjoyed. We really wanted to come and pay a visit so that Molly could come and say hello and we could bring some in-person donations before Christmas, but unfortunately, I have not been well enough to make the travel over the past few weeks. We would love to come and visit sometime in the New Year. Could you please let us know if the centre is allowed to accept homemade food donations? We’ve recently bought some dog cookbooks so that we can make some exciting homemade dog treats for Molly and we’d love to bring some along in the future, if this is allowed (all dog-friendly food of course).

Last but not least, we want to say an enormous thank you for your role in matching Molly and me together. Molly has been with me for three months now. I am pleased to say she is very settled and very happy. She’s no longer shy and withdrawn. She likes saying hello to most other dogs on her walks and has become best friends with our neighbour’s Shih Zhu. She is learning tricks. She can now sit, jump, and paw on command. We have learned that she is obsessed with cheese. This is her favourite occasional treat to have from time to time. That and a pup cup from Costa. Molly loves the dog friendly Costa stores. She gets very excited when she sees a creamy cup of goodness coming her way, and loves that she can sit on the sofa when it’s available. We recently got some adorable photos and videos of Molly in a local Costa which we uploaded to her Instagram, and Costa kindly gifted her a £15 voucher for more pup cups. We took her to Just for Pets on the same day. The staff made a very big fuss of her, and after taking some photos which they sent to us, several weeks later she won their pet of the month competition. She really is having the best life! Molly has been on lots of exciting adventures, from a trip to see her grand paw-rents in Bournemouth, to visiting me at work. Everywhere she goes, she steals people’s hearts. We are very excited for Molly’s first Christmas with us. She’s having two Christmas days, one with my partner’s paw-rents in Oxfordshire, and another with mine in Dorset. No doubt, she will be spoiled. She has lots of presents under the tree which we’re very excited to see her open. We’re also taking her on a dog friendly light trail soon… because you can never have to many Christmas memories with your furry best friends.

I could talk about Molly and her progress all day. She’s done so well to adjust to her new life. A little while ago, we set Molly up with her own TikTok and Instagram accounts so that we could share her progress with family, friends, and anyone else who would like the follow along. If any team members wanted to keep up with Molly’s adventures her accounts are as follows:

TikTok: Molly.the.chow
Instagram: Molly.the.chow.chow

We will leave you with a few of our favourite Christmas photos of Molly so far! Please feel free to share this update and any photos on social media. ''

Update from Alfie Cat;

''Dear blackberry farm team,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything you have done to bring a brightness to my nan’s life in the form of Alfie.

Alfie has now settled into his forever home. Still a little nervous and taking to hiding behind the sofa but has been eating and exploring his new room. Amazingly he has even enjoyed some fuss on the sofa where he was purring away.

We will send you some more pictures in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you ever so much, we are so truly grateful''

Update from Cleo cat,

''Hi guys,

Well Cleo has been in the house now for 1 week, and completely taken over.

She is slowly learning the word no. No don’t climb on the tv, no don’t go in cupboards and open food packets, no don’t climb on the kitchen tops ( had to put a cover on the hob after I use it), No don’t try to exit the house by the skylight window to chase birds. She has already run headlong into the patio door to chase a pigeon that got too close on the other side. She’s a full blown predator.

She is a little clumsy, so far she’s rolled off; me, the window sill, the bed and the sofa.

She hides when visitors come but she’s also a cuddle bug, watches the tv on my lap. Likes dramas not so much strictly (Luna loved strictly)

Reading in bed has become a challenge. To some extent so is sleeping.

Boundaries are not yet in her vocabulary.

Basically she’s a handful, but adorable with it. She’s definitely not the shy anxious cat she was in the rescue, just shows how different environments affect animals. ''
