Update from Arabella

"Hello all
I just wanted to let you know that Mabel (Arabella) is settling into her new home really well. Given how nervous she was initially (and still is with unexpected noises and such), it's lovely to see her hiding much less often, relaxing, and starting to play. She's jumped up on the bed to sleep next to me every night, and she starts to purr when I come over to her.
She's a sweet little thing and I'll continue being gentle and patient with her so she knows she's safe.

Best wishes
Emily"

Update from the cheeky Twiglet
"Hi RSPCA Blackberry Farm Team,
I just wanted to email you a week after adopting the lovely Twiglet (Kerry). This was the best day of my life so far and she has settled into our home so well.
I have attached some photos of how wonderful she is, very cuddly and sitting on us, she won't even sleep in a separate room (no matter the multiple cat beds we got her) and instead will sleep by my feet at nighttime, only waking me up to drink my water.

She is the sweetest cat I have ever met and her bond with my partner and me is so strong we cannot believe she has only been with us for a week! We are both besotted with her and are so grateful for everything you have done :)

All the best
Katie and Sam"

Who here has spotted this little beauty looking for a home? 🏡

Lou is a very anxious girl who has been desperately looking for her new family. She finds the kennels extremely overwhelming and so one of our staff members offered to take her home for the day for a little respite.

Lou loads into the car perfectly each time and was so excited to get through the front door. 🥺

Being an anxious girl, she is going to take some time to settle into her new routines but with time, patience and the right adopter supporting her she will only thrive!

Update from Little legs;

''Dear all at Blackberry Farm,

24 hours in and Little Legs (aka Peggy) has settled in wonderfully and is chilled and happy and inquisitive. Thank you so much for all your work. No doubt she misses you all but we are all smitten with her and she will be loved. Attached are a few photos from the last 24 hours
She’s a delightful little soul. So easy and so calm. Many thanks for all your and your colleagues’ work. When we are out walking in town (it’s a quiet town with wide pavements so very easy for Little Legs too) she is interested in everybody and everything. We suspect that with each person she sees she hopes that it will be one of you. She’s settled amazingly well here and she has lots of love to give and so have we.''

Update from Cumin and Cayenne kittens ;

''Hi there,

I just wanted to thank your team for helping us to adopt Cumin and Cayenne yesterday. You said an update would be appreciated so here it is.

They were quiet on the drive home and were napping by the time we got here,. We did have one poopcident en route but for an hour’s journey with two small kittens who’ve had tummy trouble, that’s understandable.

They settled quickly into their den in the spare room, have eaten well and used the litter box with no trouble. Both have been playing a bit and have allowed a little fuss from us but are still not sure about the whole human interaction thing. It’ll come in time.

Their favourite thing so far is to sit in front of the mirrored doors of the wardrobe and look at themselves and each other. I think we may have a diva situation brewing.

So, thanks again for all you do and here’s to many more happy rehomings!''

Update from Hippo kitten,

''Hi!

I thought you'd like a little update on how Hippo is getting on..

We've had Hippo for 2 weeks now and she has been the perfect addition to our family! She's so playful and energetic! She loves to chase anything and everything but is also the most loving kitten I've ever had the pleasure of being around. She is just perfect.

Thank you so much for introducing us to Hippo, we love her.''

Update from Twinkle cat,

'Hey Blackberry Farm,

Twinkle has been living with us for almost 2 months now! She's a completely different cat to who we brought home as she has grown in confidence and is just so happy. She's had her first check up at the vet and did really well meeting the new vet despite her hatred of new people (who don't have treats for her). Her appetite has increased and has gained 0.4kg! She's not gone outside yet but she's still very active having play time and zoomies throughout the day especially at bed time! Her favourite toys are springs which she chases around the house at top speed bellowing down the stairs. You'd never guess she's almost 10! She's so loving and cuddly and very entertaining and she enjoys joining in conversations by meowing along. She's also developed as strange habit of following people to the toilet 🤣 She's been loving the warm weather and we've installed some cat safe window screens so she won't fall out while watching the birds and smelling the fresh air. She's even got two cat admirers that come and watch her from the neighbours garden. Her favourite place to sleep is on a blanket next to a MASSIVE pink frog who is her best friend! Twinkle is living her best life with her 2 human slaves and all the food and toys she could ask for! Thank you for letting us take this little bundle of fur home!

Thank you so much''

Update from Dexter dog,
''Good morning,

The (22/08) was Dexters 5th gotcha day from when I picked him up from Blackberry Farm & as such I thought an update on how he’s doing might be nice.

As I am hopeful you can see from the pictures, he is leading his best life & we are ultimate besties. He is such a good pooch, & more importantly friend/companion, it’s unreal.

He will shortly be nine, which means most of his life thus far has now been as a very pampered lad indeed, which pleases us no end.

He is now very much more relaxed than that “full on” chap I initially took on & can now happily walk past most other pooches without reacting. Equally, as you can see from the photos, he can also be close friends (he has a few now) with other dogs too which again is great. All he needed was time, reassurance & a little encouragement which shows, to me at least, that all animals need/want is lots of love & a stable environment to thrive/develop in to allow them to put any issues behind them.

I certainly will always go down the rescue route going forward, as it’s so rewarding & wonderful to watch an animal flourish, relax & become your best friend.

From the both of us, thanks for everything you did for him whilst he was in your wonderful & loving care. We both think you are all awesome.

All the best for now,

Rich & Dexter''

Update from Millie dog;

''Hi there,

We're nearly two and a half months into adopting Millie. We can't believe it's only weeks, it feels like she's always been part of the family. We're still enjoying our dog training classes and practicing training in the park and at home. We're still getting the hang of heal walking but otherwise we're doing really well, especially recall - we show others up in the class!

Millie's settled really well, still occasionally restless at night but much better and seems such a happy and loving little dog, we wouldn't be without her. She's getting on great with other dogs and people in the park and thorough enjoys her walkies and cuddles on the sofa in the evening. In October we're off to the Yorkshire Dales on holiday, looking forward to running through those hills!

Thank you for everything you did for Millie and I. We really appreciate you're hard work.

Update from recently rehomed Daisy - the adopters have promised better photos but to quote "I am hoping to get some better pictures, but she doesn't pose in any one position for very long!!"

"We have now had Daisy (Dash) for a month and she is settling in well. This past week she has been exploring the garden and surrounding neighbourhood, generally making her self at home.
She is eating well and very lively. Not difficult to see why she was called Dash!
Very best wishes,"

Update from our one eyed Eric

"Hello Blackberry Farm team!

Here is an update from Eric :) he is completely settled in as part of our family and is enjoying his new “litter mates”. He has found lots of favourite spots in the house and is adding more every day. He enjoys sleeping next to us at night and isn’t shy in letting us know when he needs some fuss.

We LOVE having him here, he’s such a joy. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for choosing us as his forever home.

Best wishes,
The Chapmans"

Fabulous update and lovely photos of recently rehomed Rove, now Rupert, who definitely looks like he is already happily settled

"Hi,

I thought you might like a little update on how Rupert is doing now we've had him for a week! He has settled in very well and quicker than we expected. He loves to sit with us wherever we are, especially on the sofa where he curls up in between us in the evenings and on our bed at night. He's such a little attention seeker... We've found he loves to play, his favourite toy is the blue and green teaser stick. He is very chatty, he chirps and meows a lot (especially if he wants food or attention). He's very sweet and affectionate, he flops over with a little chirp for belly rubs all the time. As his confidence grows so does his cheekiness! We've really loved having him here, he's made a house a home. "
