This pallet of Petcayr own label dry should have been with us yesterday with the rest of the order but got left behind in England by the haulier 😩
Apologies for anyone who is waiting for stock - Ryan is getting it unloaded as fast as he can while Alex has a lot of work in the freezers ahead of her this afternoon.

Third delivery! Jim is back from the Totally Natural factory with a pallet to keep us going over the weekend 🙂

We are going to be adding to our ranges of dry food soon with another product being made for us in the UK.
I’m going to be doing some moving around ahead of this and marking down some slow moving items to make space - watch out for bargains as I sort out clearance lines!

My messenger is being bombarded just now with pet suppliers from China and Vietnam offering us cheap “natural” treats and toys.
Our stock is always sourced from the EU wherever possible and we know all of the companies that we deal with really well and trust them to have quality and safety at the top of their priorities.
Always check the source of anything that you are handing to your pets.

We are doing Stewarton on the rotation this week - here’s a note of where else we will be.
Ordering raw ? - our van is temperature controlled, an efficient cold chain is essential to raw feeding safety.
Please order before 4pm the day before your drop, we will always try to accommodate late orders but can’t always fit them on last minute.
Our delivery charge is £3.99, offering free delivery penalises customers who drop into the shop as the associated costs have to come from somewhere! I hope you understand our thinking!

Most of you guys don’t need to read this post….but for the few that do….
This is OUR car park. I have emphasised that it’s OUR carpark because, whilst we are delighted to be able to offer its use to all of our customers, it’s OUR carpark.
We have delivery vans and even big wagons coming in every day. The pet food trade relies on high volume as margins are low so there’s a lot of stuff coming and going. You might occasionally have to wait for a few minutes while pallets are dropped and moved in OUR carpark.
If you shout at a delivery driver then there’s every chance Steve or I will have a word with you about the use of OUR carpark. No one will have you blocked in for long because these guys are great at their jobs.
Equally if you abandon your car we may ask you nicely to move it. We really aren’t being horrible - you might be the only car there when you come in but that can change quickly and chaos follows. It’s happened!
And please be courteous to other customers in OUR car park. If you need to take a minute to let a car in or out, just take a wee deep breath and let it go…
The picnic table covers a drain. The pallet in front of the office window covers another drain. They are there to stop car wheels causing damage so please look out for them.
And finally, the legal bit, there’s a sign on the window making it clear that customers use of the car park is at their own risk. Let’s make sure there’s no risk of any of us falling out 🤣

We have had three pallets of our Petcayr own label dry foods in yesterday.
What foods do we put our name on?
Premium : a range of hypoallergenic dry foods with a single high quality protein source and varying carb sources, no additives of course
Grain free : our best selling range of dried pet foods with 50 or 60% animal protein content from fresh and dried sources, no grains, low GI carb sources, no additives
Superfoods: 65% animal protein content from mostly fresh meat with some dried, a low GI carb content and beneficial superfoods and herbs
These products bear our name because we believe in them and we have enjoyed a close working relationship with our manufacturer for over 15 years.
Many UK brands with high scores on comparison websites have their products manufactured in the same factory but I’m not supposed to say that 🤫
Don’t believe everything you read, see or pay for online! There aren’t petfood factories round every corner!
Shop local when you have the granny of the pet trade on your doorstep 🤣

@followers - Remember these posts??? It’s so hard to get our heads around that we made this huge, mind blowing leap a year ago this week. Had we known that Steve was going to have another heart attack would we have done it? Possibly not!! But that’s not how life works. And we, and you guys, have adjusted so that after a really hard few months, we have finally found work/ life balance by having our Mondays off. So….this bad boy is running constantly - not so much for us humans, it’s to keep our freezers happy! I cannot stress enough that, just at the moment, the shop is not a place to bring your dogs for a visit. We have plenty of cool water BUT The air temperature is too high for us and we can sweat to cool down - they can’t The pavement outside was 59 degrees yesterday and was warm enough that a pallet truck sank into it The fan is very noisy and the dogs who have come in were wary of it Leave them at home today please 🙏

I just wanted to let you see why occasionally we have to close off delivery runs a bit early. These are Jim’s drops for today and Steve is going back out at 4pm with the local run which is still to load later. It’s a massive help to us if you can get orders in as soon as possible 🙏 Catherine

So, so impressed with these new 500g packs from Totally Natural. Yes, at £1.40 they are more expensive by weight than the 1kg packs but I wouldn’t even class them as the same product!! The chunky texture is amazing and allows you to use just as much as you need, cutting down on prep time and refreezing. This is a total game changer for smaller dogs and makes DIY raw so much more accessible 😀
There’s been a huge online backlash (particularly on some websites where pet food reviews are written by those with questionable credentials!) against some very technical diets like Royal Canin. Just wanted to share what the power of extreme lab based nutrition can do. Remember Tabby our much loved wee cat who was on her deathbed at New Year and has been wobbly since....? ❤️ Now transitioned completely to Royal Canin ageing 12+ formula. Nutrition is not one size fits all. Every pet, every situation on it’s merit. Anyone tells you different has an axe to grind !! PS she’s coming of age this year......she’s about to turn 18 !!
