Unfortunately Hamish’s new 🏡 fell through due to no fault of his own.

11yo 15.2 bay gelding, previously shown at county level but enjoys jumping and hacking. Would suit a capable teen or adult and he is not suitable for a novice as he can be spooky. He has lived with us since a 4yo so his current and previous owner would love for him to stay on the yard if at all possible.

Vets history can be discussed if interested.

Low 4 figs.

🐎 Position and Symmetry Clinic 🐎

Why is straightness so important for a rider?

Everything we do in the saddle affects our horse, if we are crooked the horse is also going to be crooked. Asymmetries aren’t just about your seat, they’re also things such as fixing one hand and not using one leg as a well as the other. All of this contributes to the way our horses are going and often the problems we are having with their way of going come from us.

Why is it so important for a horse to be straight?

When a horse isn’t straight they will be putting more strain on certain areas of their bodies as the weight won’t be being distributed evenly thus making it far more likely for parts of the horse to breakdown over time. If the horse isn’t straight they will struggle to maintain their balance, rhythm and tempo.

The benefits of yourself and your horse being straight are endless and should be an absolute top priority in the training of any horse no matter their age or discipline. It’s one of the most important basics of training.

What to expect?

During each session you will wear one of the mapped out symmetry jackets & your horse will also have some markers too. We will assess you and your horses asymmetries through a matter of exercises & look at ways to improve them.

The clinic will consist of either an Individual session or a shared lesson of up to 2 riders for a duration of 45 mins.

Open to outsiders, riding school clients & liveries.

💚✨ MANE STAR OF THE WEEK - ⭐️Jura ! ⭐️

Jura is an ex police horse, previously stationed at Stewarton.

Police horses can often make good RDA horses because they are usually well trained to be resilient.

Jura is new to working with us but has settled in well. She has a really big bouncy trot and a tendency to be a little clumsy (she sometimes stands on the volunteers' toes!!) 🤭🤭

When the police horses come to visit us, she often goes over to talk to her old pals! 💚

Clear rounds commence at 9am, this will be limited to 1 round per person for our riding school clients.

There will be no further entries on the day unless you are doing it with your own pony.

The course will be available to walk from 8.30am tomorrow morning and also in between each class whilst the fences are going up.

Things to note 📝

▪️Clear rounds will be limited to 1 round per person and these are entered at the gate on the day.

▪️No riding school PONIES will be eligible to enter any classes over 70cm.

▪️We will be operating a strict no extra entries on the day policy for our riding school ponies e.g if you’ve only booked the 60cm but want to join the 70cm on the day, this won’t be able to happen.
