So as with most things I'm a bit late...yesterday was International Dog Day. So belated greetings to all our doggy friends and customers ❤️

Yesterday we had to say good by to our lovely Lola, she was coming up to 15 and we'd had the pleasure of her being with us for almost 14 years. Since the day I found her sitting forlornly in the Dog and Cat Shelter she brought so much joy into our lives. The first few months were hard work, she was one year old, had no training, boundless energy and the strongest drive....we learnt so much from working with her. We have had lots of dogs, losing each one leaves a hole that cannot be filled, in the case of dear Lola May it's a gaping chasm💔
So many friends and customers (our Home from Home family!) have got to know her and ask after her, hence the post, we wanted you all to know xx

Bonnie has given birth to 8 pups❤️
Between 11.00 p.m. yesterday evening and 2.30 p.m this morning - 5 girls and 3 boys. Black & White and Liver and White. Mother and pups are doing fine. If you have expressed an interest we'll be contacting you in the next few days. Everyone else please read on for further information:
We are pleased to announce that, following a successful mating between our gorgeous girl Bonnie (Sandaharr Jyn Erso) and our homebred handsome lad Finlay (Dwimordene Starman), Bonnie is expecting pups - due round about 20th April.
Bonnie and Finlay encapsulate the best attributes of Working Springer Spaniels: strength, athleticism, intelligence and wonderful biddable temperaments. We are certain their pups will inherit these traits.
Both Finlay and Bonnie are in regular work throughout the season in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.
Pups will be Kennel Club registered. Like their parents they will have tails....We don't dock!
Pups will only go to homes who will commit to giving them the physical and mental stimulation they require.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Finlay and his gorgeous siblings - Milo, Millie, Maisie, Stevie, Nila, Agnes, Otis and Ivy.
Finlay is in great demand with the ladies, he has a hot date this weekend with a lovely girl north of the border, and exciting news to follow regarding Finlay and our beautiful girl Bonnie... watch this space!

We found a dog tonight while out working in seaton deleval , it was soaking wet and no collar either. Dog has been took to moorview referrals… hope this dog gets reunited with owner

The Breakfast Club: Feeding time is one of the best opportunities for interacting with your dog to encourage calmness/ steadiness. Milo and Millie are just visiting and adjusting to being fed with the gang, and Piper is just coming up to 6 months and is still inclined to push the boundaries, but I think they all did pretty well 😊

It's. never to soon to start training pups. It's fun and games for them, but they are being encouraged to develop carrying and retrieving skills...and note the near perfect "sits" x 2 at the end. Not bad for 8.5 weeks😉
We are at capacity every day for Day Care and aren't taking on any new customers. WE NO LONGER PROVIDE HOME BOARDING. Minnie and Mairi best of buddies ❤

Late afternoon training session. Steadiness is the foundation to effective training. Cali the German Shepherd is only 8 months and just out of her first heat (the hormones can play havoc with their coherence) and Finlay (brown faced Springer) is 7 months...didn't they do well! ❤
