Storm Eowyn isn't far off now - here's a few tips to keep our furry friends safe and happy incase it does get dodgy tonight/tomorrow:

⚠️ Check your garden before letting them out for a p*e! Fences can be broken or gaps can happen in boundaries quickly. Make sure they're on a long line if needed, scary noises outside can increase the chances that they would panic and zoom off.

⚠️ Please keep your dogs and cats indoors - one night of them crying at the door is much preferable to what could happen if they go outside in those winds.

⚠️ Stormy noises can be very frightening, particularly for anxious dogs, rescues and older dogs. If you have electric popping some classical or calming music on in the background will be a big help. If you lose electric, reading aloud to your dog can be very grounding for them. Their human's voice is much nicer to focus on than the scary noises outside.

⚠️ Dogs do not need a walk in a storm, once all is calm then yes certainly head out and get them some exercise - do not bring them out through the serious warnings. If you have a dog that needs to go for p*e walks a temporary indoor litter tray could be very helpful.
Get a large plastic tray or place bin liners down on the tiled floor, cover with soil, grass, leaves or whatever outdoorsy materials you can find. A safe way to go toilet without having to go out in the worst parts.
