Well that’s a wrap for the EPA Conference 2024! A wonderful tribute to our Jayne Hunt! Amazing insightful speakers, delicious food, awesome raffle prizes/goodie bags, wonderful company and not forgetting fabulous line dancing! A massive thank you to all that came and we’ll see you at the next conference! 💜

What an awesome last day to our Equine Podiatry Association conference.

In the morning Jane Cumberlidge once again presented on the effects of bits and bridles and the impact on the hooves, followed by a fascinating presentation by Christian Egeler on pain and pain response in both humans and horses.

In the afternoon we once again saw Tom Beech, this time presenting on how the hooves are affected by the teeth and Georgie Welch on how saddle fit affects both the teeth and hooves.

The day was rounded off by a surprise visit from the founder of Cavallo Hoof Boots, who also very kindly donated 3 pairs of hoof boots for the raffle.

Yesterday afternoon we were treated to a wonderful insight into the free living horses at the RSPB Insh Marshes by Theo Jones and bit and bridle fit by Jane Cumberlidge.

Hoof Boot fitting appointments are becoming more and more popular and to keep up with the demand I have invested in a larger range of fit kits to help more horses and owners - now carrying Scoot, Flex, Fusion, Explora and Cavallo fit kits.

Hoof boot fitting appointments consists of a static and dynamic assessment of your horses stance and gait, along with a discussion on your requirements to ensure we focus on the best type of hoof boot for both of your needs. After taking measurements the boot shells are tried and where possible a dynamic assessment will also be carried out (subject to suitability of the specific shell).

Covering Hampshire and parts of Surrey and West Sussex.
