Yesterday it was Dun Laoghaire Ch show and Basti wins green star dog and best of breed along with a we group shortlist under Paul Keenan.
Su won the reserve green star B*tch

Such a treat to get a Bullmastiff breed specialist judging us today in Ireland, Mrs Sanna Vakkilainen from Finland 🙌 (thoroughly enjoyed watching your judging and critiques today)

Bhailekernon does the double where Basti wins the Green Star Dog only to be upstaged by Su who wins Green Star b*tch and Best Of Breed along with the Roan Trophy.

This is the third consecutive year we have won the Roan Trophy so we’re absolutely over the moon.

Great craic and sportsmanship as always ringside.

Well done to all other winners/exhibitors and congratulations to Newtownards and District Canine Club on a fantastic show

Great day for Bhailekernon yesterday at the Combined Canine all breed International show at Naas Racecourse.

Hunter wins best puppy in breed
Su wins green star bitch and RBOB
And Basti wins green star dog best of breed and then shortlisted in the group.

Thanks to Lorraine Fox-Gaffney for handling Su in the best of breed challenge.

No show for us today as it’s Easter and Easter should be spent doing Easter egg hunts with the kids, eating Easter eggs and then lying up like a round bale the rest of the day 😂

Yesterday was well worth the trip to Dublin for us. We had two shows and a full squad with us and we couldn’t be any more proud of our we show team.

First up was the ‘Molosser of the year 2024’ under highly respected Molosser specialist judge from France ‘Marlya Makomaski’
Hunter won the Molosser Puppy of the year, he’s just turned 6 months so absolutely delighted with him.
Then Basti wins the Reserve Molosser of the year 2024
Absolutely delighted with this father son duo.

Then we had the ‘Irish Great Dane all breed open’
Our breed judge was Lauren Whan and our dogs really done us proud.
First up was Mindy, she wins best baby puppy in breed at just over 4 months of age, her first show. (We didn’t make it into the BBPIS as it clashed with the molosser show)
Then we had Hunter up who won best of breed and then went on to win the group under Nathan Quinn
Su won best champion bitch and
Basti won best champion dog and then best champion in breed (again we missed Best champion in show as it clashed with the molosser show) thank you to Lauren and Nathan for thinking so highly of my dogs.

In Dachshunds we had Tony out, Co-owned by myself and Caroline Reynolds. Tony not only won best of breed, he then went on to win the group handled by Wendy Fleming he went so well for you Wendy.

So we had two of our Homebred dogs in the best in show line up,

Reflecting on Basti’s show season..

We competed in 24 shows around Ireland this season with Basti winning 23 green stars and 20 best of breeds. This makes Basti the top winning Bullmastiff in Ireland 2023 (Annual champion)

Along his show career so far he has attained 7 titles which is incredible as he is only 21 months old.

We love puppy updates at Bhailekernon but this one really pleased me this week.

Robert Mc Laughlin first contacted us 2 years ago enquiring about a bullmastiff puppy, he done all his research on the breed and kept in contact every month.

Now he’s had 8 weeks with his Bhailekernon puppy ‘Bayon’ and he’s over the moon.
Good things come to those who wait, your doing a great job with him Robbie well done 👏

Introducing BHAILEKERNON TONY

Tony is my keeper puppy from my last litter of Mini Smooth Dachshunds.
He will now join our show team to be exhibited throughout Ireland starting 2024.

Results from this weekend’s and last weekend’s shows!!!

Last weekend at the Munster Agri international and national shows I could not make the trip so my good friends David Gaffney & Lorraine Fox-Gaffney pulled out all the stops to bring Basti for me and organise handlers etc, I’m incredibly appreciative of this so thank you all Ashley Rogers Mick & Liz Dyer Dean Gartan-Spires
Basti wins first junior dog green star dog and best of breed both days. He also won his third and crowning junior CACIB making him a new JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION

Yesterday at the Newtownards Champ show we took Basti and Su
Su wins first champion bitch & green star bitch handled with class by the Dogfather
Basti wins first junior dog, green star dog and best of breed. He also won THE ROAN TROPHY following in Su’s footsteps from this show last year.
Basti then gets shortlisted in a very competitive group.

Massive thank you to all our judges for thinking so highly of our show team.

Brilliant day for us yesterday at the IKC CELTIC WINNERS INTERNATIONAL SHOW back where we belong at the National Show Centre in Cloghran, Dublin…

Yesterday myself and Basti made the trip to Tipperary to the ‘South Tipp all breed championship show’ where again Basti didn’t disappoint winning first place in junior dog (his 3rd junior point) then winning green star dog and best of breed against good competition.

So yesterday we traveled to Roscommon to show our young boy Basti at the Mid West All Breed Champ show and we are over the moon with how he performed under breed judge Mr Harold Quigg.
He won 1st junior dog and Green Star Dog (CAC) then went on to win Best Of Breed against some nice competition.

Delighted that he gained his second point towards his junior championship title which made the almost 3 hour drive home more bearable.

So last week we started Basti’s health testing journey as he had just turned 1 year old. We went to Nutgrove Veterinary Hospital in Dublin to see their cardiologist specialist Mr Tom Mullany who came highly recommended by Michelle Murphy 🙌
Following Toms examination were very happy to say that Basti has passed his first health test with a good strong clear heart and a we certificate for good measure.
