Things are still bitterly cold, with temperatures in our area not rising above -2 in the past 48 hours 🥶
The Zoom Zone is still open for those who are happy to make the journey, and going by the photos you guys are sending us, the dogs are absolutely loving the frost! ❄️🤍
If you'd rather not make the journey to your Zoom Zone session, we are happy to reschedule your appointment to a different day. Just send us a wee message 💌
The Doggy Park will be open as normal on Saturday & Sunday for Playgroups, don't forget to book your space 🐕🐶

An incredibly important part of any agility training & the secret to a good run! This seminar is suited to all levels of agility, from beginners to competing dogs.
We're joined by the lovely Teresa McAdam of Animal Physio NI , who has many years experience working alongside the agility community to help dogs stay fit & ready for action.

New term of Scent Detection classes coming up! 🥳
Teach your dog to use their natural superpower in a game that boosts their confidence, works their brain and leaves them content & enriched after class.
✨️ BRONZE LEVEL ✨️
For beginners, suitable for all ages 🥰
A 5 week course introducing your dog to the game of scent detection, working on odour recognition, searching & Indicating.
No prior training needed, as its a group class dogs should be able to focus with you around other dogs though 😊🐾

For those who have completed Bronze.
A 5 week course continuing our skills in Scent Detection - including introducing 2 new scents and 2 new indications! 🥳

Happy 3rd Birthday Oliver 🥳🎂💙
Aka Wolfie, aka Sir Shouty Pants, aka Land Shark 😆
What a whirlwind of a rescue this boy has been, from a confused little soul to living his life to its absolute fullest 🤩
On his birthday, we just want to say thank you to each and every dog & human who has helped give this boy a chance to be... a dog! To all our very own Beechgrove team, to visitors and dogs helping in playgroups, social groups, and training, and all are shown with patience and kindness.
It has helped so much with his new journey in life, which is still only beginning, so thank you all loads! ❤️

Woohoo! It's (FINALLY) time - our Zoom Zone is opening on January 1st 🥳
Our largest play area, available for *totally* private hire. No neighbouring play areas with dogs or humans, just you, your dog and some peace 🥰
Simply book your slot, drive in, close the gate behind you & enjoy the safe off-lead freedom!
This space is perfect for:

✨️ Exempt Breeds (welcome to enjoy the space muzzle free!)
✨️ Dogs with less-than-perfect Recall

This week we heard the very sad news that our little friend Teddy has passed away 💔
Teddy has been visiting us at the park for over 5 years, often with his best pal Rupert in tow 🥰
A true terrier, he just loved his visits to the park to play, learn new tricks for his ball, having some fun on the agility equipment in his younger years and, as he got a little older, he was a big fan of enrichment/snuffle parties during his visits too 🥰 but no matter what games he played when he visited, he always had plenty of cuddles to share with us too 🧡
We'll miss his lovely little smiley face so much. Sending lots of love to his mum, & of course to Rupert too, we're all thinking of you.

Starting Wed 8th January

Introducing the game of Hoopers! Focused on Flatwork skills, handling and introducing obstacle basics 🤩
Suitable for all ages including pups! Dogs should have good recall around other dogs to join the group classes 🥰

What is hoopers?
A game similar to agility, where you guide your dog around a course. However instead of physically challenging obstacles, hoopers uses a series of hoops, tunnels and barrels in their course and focuses on guiding our dogs using independence and distance skills 🤩
(Hoopers also available in 1-1 Sessions for those dogs who find groups harder)
A booster course for those who have completed the Bronze level UK Snifferdogs course. Taking those skills learned in the Bronze course and kicking them u pa gear! With fun challenges, novel new scents, and a mini trial 🤩

Staff dogs day off 😆❤️
They live and breathe the Doggy Park, they put up with long working days, they welcome hundreds of people & pooches to use 'their' park and they never complain. 🥰
As much as they love it, they also love a day off. 🐕🐾

A highlight from Saturday Playtime 🤩
Would you believe it if I told you there's a 10-year age difference between these two pals? 🥹
Oscar, the Golden Retriever, has been visiting us for an amazing 11 years now. He has always loved rough play with big breeds, like wrestling & bitey face. He's a wise boy who often guides younger dogs through play. 🥰
Max, a 10-month German Shepherd, just loved his playtime with Oscar! Not only did he get a good play that suits his nature, but he also learnt some valuable social cues - like what type of play was appropriate, how to stop & back off and when he was invited to play again. ☺️
We always say it takes another dog to teach essential life skills and good doggy equitte. So thank you, Oscar, for guiding yet another young boy through his teenage phase ❤️
Called down to the park this morning for treatos before Diesel & Oliver fall out with me 🤣
Storm Ashley is picking up badly in this area now. We already have a couple of broken jumps! Everything else has been storm prepped and still the worst of the wind to come at lunchtime 🙉
Oliver was loving the wind this morning but is now becoming wary as it's getting more noisy at home. Diesel couldn't care less 😂

Our main aim is to build an excellent relationship between you and your dog, through mutual respect, belief and cooperation, using positive training methods.
