Lucky me spending the morning teaching a Poleastics clinic in Oak Tree Farm Cross Country brand new arena 🤩

Exercises used to focus on relaxation and rhythm so the rider can show the horse where to go and then stay out of their way whilst they do it

Love to see the combinations grow in confidence through their sessions and surprise themselves with how well the patterns work together by the end 👏

A particular highlight was starting with a worried little horse with a talent for capriole 😬 his confidence improved as we used exercises to show him how to soften and work with us. He settled so well, completing the patterns in a quiet way on a soft rein - well sat and well ridden!🏆

What a lovely way to spend the weekend! 🥰

Four intrepid ladies challenged themselves to learn “how to horse”

Life and nerves have got in the way of them being able to truly enjoy horses and so this was a chance for them to rediscover the joy we all know horses can bring whilst becoming confident in themselves and having a great laugh whilst we did!

We spent Friday and Saturday learning the skills with the test on Sunday

Five challenges were set out to test their acquired knowledge over the weekend

💅Grooming with plaiting *artistic interpretation allowed

🪢Lungeing - communicating with the horse from the ground to start, slow and turn with equipment

🪄Free horsemanship - communicating with the horse from the ground to choose to stay with you through movements without equipment

📋Dressage test - set series of movements performed on the horse

🤸‍♀️Obstacles - set series of obstacles to be completed on the horse with a timed section

Points were awarded for completing and style of each challange

There were HUGE improvements over the weekend 👏
With looks of bewilderment as I demonstrated how a horse will choose to stay with you to the faces of wonderment when they achieved it for themselves💫

Some real nerves were overcome as they conquered the different obstacles and some great displays of horsemanship and kindness to each other

Julie Doyle was the resulting worthy winner 🏆

These ladies have been raising funds for Harry’s Pals. A very special charity who supports parents of seriously ill or disabled children

So glad I could be a part of something so special

I help you to ENJOY your horse

I teach the horse and rider in front of me rather than rinse and repeat the same lesson
CLINICS are adapted to you so you can leave with an idea you could replicate at home to improve your way of going, we don’t see how many poles you can get over in a line

CAMP is an immersive weekend in the very beautiful setting of Foxhill Farm. Surprise yourself how much you can improve in a few days

Lovely day for POLEASTICS Clinic at Bury Farm Equestrian Village

As always, a great variety of riders enjoying the exercises with each session tailored to the horse in front of me

We use the poles to improve the way of going rather than just seeing how many poles we can get over in a session

Great to see some new faces as well as the progression of returning riders

🌟NEW POLEASTICS VENUE🌟

Saturday 3rd August at Oak Tree Farm in Bloxham

I’m very excited to be able to bring my clinic to the BRAND new arena at Oak Tree Farm

The outdoor arena is so spacious and rides beautifully. Oak Tree Farm is located near Bloxham, with easy access and parking and is such a friendly, welcoming place (with an excellent XC course for training over)

Poleastics clinics use innovative pole exercises to improve confidence and coordination. I adapt the exercises to the horse in front of me and tailor the training to improve your way of going

June🌦️

I won’t be mentioning the weather

It’s great to see private clients experience the benefits of consistent training and some new clients starting out. Some wins have included, first solo outings - confidently! Remembering dressage tests, first clear round XC, remembering that horses really can be so FUN and “I’ve never ridden on such a long rein and still felt in control” 👏
As well as another great clinic at Bury Farm yesterday, always such a welcoming venue to work with ✨

The horses have been enjoying their work and I have had the joy of welcoming Wilf home and beginning his retraining. I supplement my coaching through the winter by riding out for local trainer, Ben Case. Despite my best (read as weak) efforts I’ve ended up bringing my work home with me 🙈

In a fortunate turn of events, Wilf has lead me to having a conversation with ROR and I’m thrilled to very soon become one of their listed trainers. There will be offerings at my clinics at camps for ROR riders and I’m excited to help other horses in their retraining journey 🥳
