Today we dropped this lovely boy back home to his mum, after a really great show season, where he went from strength to strength.
He's been a pleasure to train, with a lovely owner, who trusted us completely with his education.
We hope you can go and enjoy him now!
Happy horse. Happy owner. Happy me 😍💙🧡
Thank you Lilly 🧡

Love him finishing well within the top 10 at the Trailblazers Championships Novice warm up day. Putting in an 'elegant and harmonious' test, who knew we could be elegant, judges words not mine 😉
Back for more fun tomorrow

🦄Trailblazers combined training championships🦄
Super pleased with Nigel, who grew in confidence over the 3 days
Started out on Friday not liking the second fence and elimination on the warm up day. Jumping is very new to him.
Day 1 : pulled off a super dressage test, and to complete the showjumping phase but with time faults, from checking the jumps wouldn't eat him before jumping.
Day 2: an even better dressage test on 72% and a super clear round that was forward and confident!
And finishing 2nd!!! 🥈
What a turnaround in a few days!
A lovely boy that grew from strength to strength! Super proud of us and what we achieved 🙌
Thank you to Helen and Sandra for allowing me to ride and train him, it's a pleasure when you can get the results from the hard work put in. 💙

We had fun at addington on Sunday, although the showing judges didn't love him, we love him dearly, and he always tries his hardest.
It's was all education for him and showing him addington before the dressage champs in a few weeks time. 🧡💙

Scott on winning form at spotfest! Also taking ridden champion 😍❤️
Thank you Lilly for letting me ride him, he did also get to meet his new sister which he thought was very exciting... her not so much, her big brother is scary!

With horses on the wait list to come in, it's time to move this little boy on to the next part of his journey. The right home is very important for this little man.
15.2hh 10 year old gelding
Tb x wb
Although he is 10, he is green but honest.
He really enjoys hacking out in company and even taking the lead on the roads, not overly faced by traffic.
He has great ground manners and would do well doing liberty or natural horsemanship as well as being a general riding horse in time. He long reins nicely and leads from other horses.
So I would love to find him a home where he can carry on learning in a way that he finds fun.

What a week of ups and downs, quite literally at times!!
We got my sheep's sheared and that was entertaining, something I wish we caught on camera. Just imagine me riding my sheep backwards round the pen!! 😅🐑
So pleased with Scott, his training has all come together and he proved it on Saturday winning his classes and taking a silver sash home. 🥈
John boy the giant started of great, understanding walk and trot on a circle. But we soon learnt that mum isn't allowed to leave the arena to get a jumper when she gets cold, as he took great offence to her leaving and we parted ways, reasonably gracefully, just managed to burn my are on the saddle on way down! See picture of evidence 🤣
But finished the week, with walk, trot and canter both ways and some really smart moments!! 😍
Then we get to Denny... finished top 3 in his prelim test today, with mum winning this class with the super cob. Then to warm up for the second test and he wasn't right, so we had to withdraw 😔 but we will rest him and he'll recover to come back fighting once again!
What a roller coaster week. And ooo look its monday tomorrow, off we go again

Denny did his best test to date in the novice yesterday, scoring just over 68% and securing 3rd place and gaining his championship qualification. Love him, all the hard work paying off!
Just no one tell denny he's got to go to a championships!

A quick round up on what was a crazy last week!
Starting with 2 days doing my coach training with the BS at the national training centre.
Then bathing and prepping Sabby for Windsor.
Thursday a 4am alarm to get down to Royal Windsor, with mum and sabby, they did a great job, just sadly not in top 6 this time, but it was a huge class with not much space in the arena.
Friday we spent the day at Windsor with no horses competing.
Saturday we collected George's new horse, just a small one... 17.2hh!!!
Then to Bath Scott ready for his trip to Windsor...
By Sunday with all the rain we were towed in and out of Windsor, but Scott pulled two placings, in horrible ground conditions.
And we then collected Bobby from the field he was staying in while we were waiting for a free stable, so hopefully get him broken in soon.
It's back to normal life this week for a break!
Thank you to everyone that helped at home and that groomed at the shows, we can't do it all with out you! Thank you to Lilly for letting me have the ride on Scott.
Enjoy loads of pictures from the week

What an amazing boy, Denny was a star today!!
After the year he had in 2023 where he spent most his time at the vets I thought we'd never get the results we did today. He did his most settled tests to date getting a 2nd in the prelim and winning the novice!!
He's a little tryer always giving his best ❤️❤️
Thanks Sarah Stocks for coming with us ❤️

- If your torso is collapsing to the right, your hips slipped to the left
- If your right leg keeps creeping up, or you lose just the right stirrup, your hips have slipped left
- If you find it easier to ride to the left, than to the right, your hips likely slip to the left.
- if you find yourself clinging to the right rein, while practically forgetting that you have a left one, good chances are that your hips slept left
- If your left hand is higher than your right hand, it’s possible that your hip slipped to the left
- If cantering counter clockwise, feels okay, but cantering clockwise feels awful, I’m gonna say your hips slipped left.
- if you can leg yield your horse to the right (off your left leg) pretty well, but cannot lead guild to the left to save your life, your hips are probably chronically slipping to the left.
So many times, when a rider or is collapsing to the right, their coach tells them to fix it by stepping into the left stirrup. 🤦♀️ Like, I’ve heard of very famous coaches, giving this instruction.
And the thing is, it does look a little better, because at least when they step into the left stirrup, it gets them to straighten up their entire body -the problem is they are still off-center.
I think the coach then typically gives students other exercises that bring them back over to the right (like twisting the shoulders to point a little to the left would help), but what I can tell you is these students then talk to me about their ride and they have absolutely no idea how to reproduce whatever straightness they may have accomplished during that clinic.
The number one, needs solved now, issue in the rider in this sketch is that the hips fell left. I don’t care that the rib cage is collapsing to the right, or that the right leg is creeping way up. All of that will be fixed once the Rider brings their pelvis back to center.
This person is also riding with the left hip forward and the right hip back, but that will also likely resolve once you get this person to scooch over to the right.
I would tell this student to put their left butt cheek in the middle of the saddle, high centering it, and drop the right butt cheek down into the hole that creates.
Another great exercise (on a trotting horse) is to drop the left stirrup, go clockwise, and posting trot utilizing just the right stirrup. This will feel horrible at first- to the point that I often have to let students try the exercise the opposite direction with the opposite stirrup so they realize how easy it is on their “strong” side.
If you really struggle to keep from slipping left, it can also help to turn your chest to point a little bit to the left (while traveling right). This can be very effective at putting your weight into your right leg. You can stand up, assume a position similar to riding, and then twist your torso, one way, and then the other. Not all, but definitely most people find that when they twist to the left, it shifts weight into the right foot and vice versa.
Btw- I do virtual video review lessons! Very little tech knowledge needed. $65/lesson.

Denny working hunter 1st place
Couldn't ask for more from Denny this afternoon after getting stuck on the m40 after it was shut because of a horrible car accident. We were stuck for about 4 hours. The horses were impeccably behaved just ate there hay and had some water and lots of treats and cuddles. Watched all the people walking up and down the hard shoulder.
We missed our morning classes but got there for the fun stuff! Denny jumped his socks off. Even opening gates and going over bridges.
He only went a came first!!! 💕
A busy week for Denny
I heard someone ask 'Whats Denny been up to?'
Well hear is the answer a busy week for him, always trying his best
'A horse that tries, is a horse that's a winner in my eyes'
Thank you Mandy McGlynn BS Showjumping Coach

Flick show jump session
Flicker in his show jump lesson last Tuesday
We learnt a lot and have some homework on making him sharper. But in fridays session at home he was pretty sharp and with the weather at the weekend we definitely had a sharp and forward horse. So heading in the right direction
Mandy McGlynn BS Showjumping Coach
RLS Equine & Canine Services is run by Rachel, who specialises in the training of horses both at your yard and our own. Also she is a mad lover of dogs, and also works part time at a dog day care centre near Banbury.
Rachel owns 4 horses of which have all been produced by herself, from young unbroken horses to nice riding horses.
Rio is a WPB x Dutch Warmblood 11 year old chestnut mare, i bought her as an unbroken horse with all the plans to produce and sell on but once i jumped her i knew she was never going anywhere! She has since competed up to fox hunter level show jumping (1.20m)
Cassie is a 7 year old Warmblood by Cevin Z. She was backed and broken as a 4 year old, and was given lots of time to mature (as she is a big horse) but unfortunately she was diagnosed last year(2019) with OCD in her stifles. She had an operation in Nov (2019) and is now on the long rehabilitation road... (please follow this page for updates on her progress)
Flicker is a 7 year old Warmblood by Unbelievable Darco. I had him to break in as a late 4 year old for a client of mine who then wanted to sell him, i had fallen in love with his easy going nature and bought him for myself. he was lightly competed as a 5 year old and has since been given time to mature.
Joanna is a 18 year old ID x TB mare who i bought as a 6 year old as my first horse, she took me through all the levels at PC and started by BS love. She is currently out on loan. But will always have a home with us if she ever decides to come home.
Rachel also owns 2 dogs, one a Springer spaniel who was bred by her parents and given to her on her 21st birthday and a rescue dog from Romania who arrived with us in 2017. They a both great dogs with completely different personality's and struggles, my rescue dog especially who had trust issues to begin with. He is a happy dog although still can be weary of other dogs and people which isn't surprising when you were abandoned on the streets.
We also have some pet sheep, so don’t be surprised to see the odd sheep/lamb photo!
I hope to keep you up to date with my horses and client horses....
