Dog Squad

Dog Squad Providing positive reward based dog training for all ages and breeds. IMDT registered. This is where I started my journey into training with my own dogs.

My Story

I'm Amy owner & trainer of "Dog Squad" have been around all breeds of family dogs since I was little. My first "problem" GSD came home in 2005 a 3 year old German Shepherd, which came from a rehoming centre, she wasn't great with other dogs and could be "funny" with people. Working for many years with a well respected ex police dog handler, who taught me a lot on all things GSD, using tr

aditional training methods. Since 2005 I've re-homed 9 adult GSDs from the age of 2 years upwards some with behavioural problems & some just looking for some home comforts. 2 GSD puppies & 1 Labrador. Over these years, each one has given me new challenges to work out and help "them be them" and I have undertaken lots of different training workshops, learning the new "modern" ways combined with having been involved in training clubs & classes both as an owner/trainer & helping other owners through 1-2-1 sessions with all different breeds. My page is new but have been in the training world for some years and I am keen to meet and work with new owners to pass on some of my experiences to help bring out the best in you and your dog.

Thank you to everyone who donated and bought raffle tickets.

Your generous donations helped raise this amazing amount 🐾🐾

Our 2025 Grand Total is in! This year we made a fantastic £10,400

This is amazing and will go a long way to helping our dogs. We rely on donations and fundraising to support our dogs, covering the kennels fees, vet bills, food, training, neutering and equipment that our dogs need.

Our show is our biggest fundraiser of the the year.

We certainly could not do it without you our supporters, with out you and your dogs there would be no show.

Let's not forget how difficult a show is to put together and nexts years show preparations will probably start again tomorrow! Today our thanks go to many many people who made it possible:

*Our show team who work their socks off
*Our volunteers, friends and family who give up their day to set up and close down the event, run the stalls, show ring and have a go rings.
*To George Bell our compere who is the voice of our show ring and keeps us all entertained
*Our First aider John McCue
*To Simon and his team at K9 Manhunt & Scent Work Scotland and Specialist Search Dogs for their Demo (and arial photos)
*Hertitage vet for coming along as our vets on call and giving out advice
*All our class and ring Sponsors
*All the home bakers - we made a record amount on the baking this year!
*To everyone one who donated prizes for our Raffle and tombolas
*Our stall holders who have returned again and to all the new ones who joined us for the first time.
*To Salt n Peppa Catering - thanks for feeding everyone - You guys are the best!
*Nick from Eskvalley Dog Training for giving out training advice.
*Liam from Wild Memories photography who will i'm sure share his creations when he has edited them.
*A special mention to Jane, Jenny & Emerson from Pets at Home Craigleith who worked their socks off all day to help us. (Craigleith is our NEW partnership store)
*And finally Ali Lochhead, Alison Campbell and Iain Butt our judges who definetly had the hardest job of the day

Im sure you will all agree it was a great day and an even greater result......until next year THANK YOU ALL.
