Hi Gwynneth
Thank you very much for finding out this information
You guys have been fantastic for Luna and I
The care and attitude that Luna has received from all of you has also been great and I have managed to turn the corner for Luna and she is settling in and seems to be very happy
On behalf of myself and Luna THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH for all your help and support
All the very best to you all.

We are so glad that Luna is doing well. Positive feedback is invaluable for boosting staff morale at a time when the veterinary industry is facing many challenges.

We also had a farmer name a calf after one of our vets last week!!

Today is a special day at Woodside, our head nurse Erin starts her maternity leave and we are all excited to meet baby Harper in the not too distant future. Erin has a few weeks left before her due date to prepare her nest and enjoy some sunshine ☀️ (even her cat had to come in and get his teeth cleaned before babys arrival ☺️) we all wish Erin the very best for her next challenge and we cant wait to welcome you back next year 🥰

Oscar joined us today to have a dental scale and polish under general anaesthetic and left with pearly whites 🦷🪥

Thankfully he didn't need to have any teeth extracted today and with this preventative scale and polish being done it will help prevent the need for extractions in the future- prevention is better than cure! 😁

Oscar is a member of our Pet Health Club too so his owners recieved a lovely discount- did you know about the dental discounts associated with the Pet Health Club?! 🤑

If you'd like to discuss your pet's dental health with a Vet or Nurse please phone us to book an appointment 📆

This is Meg ❤️

Meg came to us very unwell a few weeks ago due to having a uterine infection called a Pyometra. This type of infection is treated by surgically removing the uterus under general anaesthetic.

Unfortunately, pyometra's can be fatal if not treated so we are very glad to see Meg doing so well! Symptoms of a pyometra include (but are not limited to): excessive thirst, excessive peeing (possibly wetting the bed/peeing in the house), being off their food, lethargy and vomiting. It is an infection of the uterus so any female dog or cat who has NOT been spayed is at risk of getting this infection. If you are worried about your dog please don't hesitate to give us a ring and chat about your concerns! 📞

Meg had emergency surgery and was sent home the following day and has officially been signed off, well done Meg 🎉🐾

Here is happy Meg getting treats from the nurse when in for a post operative examination today 🤤

Today Woodside said goodbye to a long serving member of our team. Stephanie has decided to hang up her uniform in exchange for more family time, more time with her menagerie of animals and some research work on the horizon too. Stephanie is well known by a lot of our clients, not only for her love and wisdom of wildlife, chickens, bats, dogs, cats and birds but for her friendly and welcoming smile. Our staff will miss Stephanie a lot but we promise to keep in touch for all our wildlife rehabilitation needs. We all wish Stephanie the very best of luck and happiness for her next chapter.

Miniature Jack Russell ‘Jasper’ was in for his second vaccination this week with RVN Nicole. He was an absolute star💫 and was so interested in getting treats from his owner he hardly noticed the vaccine going in.

We recommend all puppies to come in for vaccination and health check from 8 weeks of age, give us a call if you would like some more information on the vaccinations we offer.

Is your pet insured?! 😬

Unexpected bills are always less than ideal but when it's associated with the health of your beloved pet it can sting harder to have to consider the price of medical treatment at short notice 🏥

For this reason we recommend having your pet insured and we would be delighted to discuss with you the ins and outs of looking for a good insurance policy 🐾

Handsome Dusty was in to see Nurse Erin recently for a wellness screening check. He was incredibly well behaved and with the gentle approach from the nurses and the use of pheromone sprays he remained very calm throughout his checks. 😌

Dusty had a thorough but non invasive health check followed by a blood pressure check which he was very patient for. He then had a blood sample taken. 🩸

Dusty's owner brought a urine sample to be tested and his blood samples were sent to an external laboratory to be tested and the results of the whole wellness check were then reported to the owners by a Veterinary Surgeon. ☎️

Dusty is 13 years old and healthy which is how he qualified for a wellness check. If you have a cat over the age of 7 years or a dog over the age of 5 years and who is healthy and showing no signs of illness then they too may be eligible for this very in depth and thorough screening for only £85! 🐾 this comprehensive medical screening check ensures the early detection of many diseases to allow for the best outcome for your beloved pet. 🩺

Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love, but it's essential to ensure our furry friends stay safe amidst the festivities. Here's a guide to help you navigate potential dangers and keep your pets healthy and happy.

🍫 Chocolate Caution!

Chocolate, a classic Valentine's treat, can be harmful to pets. Theobromine, found in chocolate, can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, and even more severe issues. Keep all chocolate goodies out of your pet's reach.

💐 Beware of Blooms!

While flowers are a symbol of love, some varieties are toxic to pets. Lilies, roses with thorns, and tulips can be harmful if ingested. Opt for pet-friendly alternatives like sunflowers or daisies to ensure a safe environment.

🚫 Say No to Xylitol!

Many Valentine's sweets contain xylitol, a sugar substitute. Even small amounts can lead to a rapid insulin release, causing hypoglycemia in pets. Keep treats containing xylitol far away from your furry friends.

🍷 Alcohol Awareness!

Celebrating with a glass of wine? Ensure it's far from your pets. Alcohol consumption can lead to serious health issues for animals, including respiratory failure. Keep drinks out of their reach.

🏠 Create a Pet-Safe Zone!

Set up a designated area for your pets away from Valentine's Day decorations and treats. This provides a safe haven for them, ensuring they won't accidentally ingest anything harmful.

🧼 Clean Up Quickly!

Dispose of gift wrap, ribbons, and packaging promptly. Curious pets might see these as toys or snacks, leading to potential choking hazards or digestive issues.

🚨 Watch for Warning Signs!

Keep an eye out for symptoms of pet distress, including vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, or unusual behaviour. If you notice any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately.

🏩 Celebrate Responsibly!

Valentine's Day can be enjoyable for everyone, including your pets. By taking a few precautions, you can ensure a safe and loving celebration for the entire family.

Wishing you a very happy Valentine’s day
