Today I've been called a "cheeky b*tch" and a "Ba$***D" in a message to a 3rd party that's obviously been sent to me instead.

This was after messages exchanged with this customer due to them not showing for their double appointment. In these messages I remained professional and explained that I could still accept the dogs depending on the condition of their coat but I may only be able to provide a mini groom. I explained however that they would be charged for the appointment they had made (full groom) and if they preferred to re-arrange there would be a no show fee.

This is because you aren't just paying for the service, it is also my time.

This no show was due to not receiving a reminder. Checking my system, it showed it had been sent but that's not to say it hasn't been an IT problem. I will stress though not to rely on reminders being sent, they are a courtesy. I am unable to monitor everyone's, I have over 200 customers on my system which is why I have invested in it. However the reason as to why, doesn't come in to it but feel I do need to stress to everyone not to rely on reminders to tell you that you are booked in.

Guys, this is standard practise and all within my T&Cs. I can't stress enough that whilst I appreciate everyone, it doesn't matter if you have came to me for the first time or have been coming for over 10 years or if its the first time you haven't turned up or the tenth. If you have made an appointment with me you are accepting these T&Cs.

This is NOT easy for me to adhere to but I have to in order to keep my business going. I am the only person here. I can't afford to pay my bills unless people show for their appointments. Not turning up gives me no way of getting anyone in. January alone I have had 8 dogs not show for appointments.

Remember, I may be just your dogs groomer but I am also a business owner, wife, daughter, sister, auntie and a friend to someone. I've not only business bills to pay, I've my home aswell. I rarely would disclose things like this publicly but I feel the need to given I've been called these names.

I appreciate also that this is not everyone. However, maybe the next time you feel annoyed at having to pay a missed appointment fee or annoyed at a slight price increase in any small business...take a moment to think about how hard that person finds it. I assure you the anxiety and stress the person feels with it, makes it extremely difficult.

So if me adhering to my T&Cs makes me a cheeky b*tch or a Ba$***D.... then I wish all the best to you and your future groomer. Thank you to everyone however that respects me and my business...you are worth more to me than you can ever imagine 🖤
