Good morning all,

We are very sorry for the late notice but given the very cold, icy and foggy conditions, we have decided that it is not safe to go ahead with Barking junior parkrun.

The road conditions are treacherous and we do not want to risk anyone’s safety getting to the park. It is also much colder than yesterday and we feel it is unsafe for our volunteers and juniors.

The weather looks much kinder next week. Please keep warm and safe.

The website has been updated and a cancellation email sent to all volunteers.

FEELING FESTIVE?

At this time of year there are extra parkrun events!

On Christmas Day (25th December) there will be an event just down the road from us at Barking parkrun. Please allow extra time if driving as there will be more people than usual trying to find parking spaces! Note that Valentines Park will be CLOSED on Christmas Day.

On New Year's Day (1st January) there will be an additional event at Valentines. Please note that the car parks within Valentines Park will be closed, so if you're driving you should allow extra time for parking, etc. The café will also be closed.

These extra events will start at 9 o'clock.

🌧️ Important Update: Barking junior parkrun Cancelled 08/12/2024 🌧️

Hi everyone,

We’re sorry to announce that tomorrow’s Barking junior parkrun is cancelled due to the severe weather conditions brought by Storm Daragh. 💨 Safety always comes first, and with strong winds and heavy rain expected, we want to make sure everyone stays safe and sound.

We’ll miss seeing all your smiling faces, but don’t worry – we’ll be back next week ready for some more running, fun, and high fives! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Following reports of Storm Darragh this weekend, the latest is that it should subside in the early hours of Sunday morning so we are planning to still go ahead.

We've invited everyone to wear blue this Saturday to celebrate the launch of '5k Your Way Move Against Cancer' at Barking parkrun.
