Hi everyone! Hope your all well 🥰 I just wanted to clear something up which a few people seem to have been a little unhappy with. As you all know I don't take deposits. Instead, I charge for appointments that have been missed before allowing any further bookings. I don't charge a fee for a one off missed appointment because we are only human and everyone forgets once in a while. I believe I am being more than fare with this very layed back procedure. However I do charge a fee if appointments have been missed on numerous occasions, I keep a record of each customer and make notes of when appointments have been missed. I don't charge to punish said customers, I charge to keep my head above water. My job / my business is my livelihood. I don't go into work and get payed by the hour regardless. I come into work and get payed for the work I have done. If I get a couple of customers a week not showing up that's a big loss, so I have to find a way to replenish my losses right ? I hope everyone can understand. Thanks for your time and custom. Georgina 🐾

👛🪙Price increases 🪙👛
Hi everyone!
Just letting you all know that prices will be going up quite significantly in February. I hate to have to do this, but if I don't move with the times my business will suffer. I won't blame anyone who wishes to shop around for a cheeper groomer, although I'd be sad to see any of you go, we all have to look after our penny's. I've tried to keep my prices as fair as possible but it gets to a point where I have to make sure I'm paying myself enough for the hours I work aswell as covering all business costs. Hope you can all understand.

Some really good advise here for anyone who's dogs struggle with fireworks. This guy knows his stuff and I agree with everything he says. Dogs do feed off your energy so If youre nervous and wound up, they will be too 🧡🧡

⚠️Flea & Tick post ⚠️

Hi everyone, just a few bits on keeping your pets free from pesky parasites due the them thriving at the moment with the weather being so warm and humid.

So a lot of people think if their dogs don't come into contact with other dogs they they're safe from fleas. This is incorrect ❌
Your dogs / pets can pick up fleas & ticks in their own garden.
All it takes is for another infested animal such as a cat to pass through your garden and that's enough to hand the problem over to you.

A very important thing you should know is that fleas WILL infest your home and not just your dog. Your dog is actually just the host for the fleas to feed from. Fleas WILL lay eggs around your home and their numbers will increase rapidly.

If you have numerous pets in the home and you experience an infestation, they will all need to be tret with the appropriate flea treatments and the home will need to be tret also, usually with a house hold spray.

Flea eggs are bomb proof ! And the egg must be hatched in order to kill the flea. They can lay dormant for a long time so to encourage hatching, cause vibrations with hoovering ect around the times of treatment. Treatments will have to be repeated according to the manufacturers guidelines on the products you purchase. The whole house MUST be treated as fleas are very capable of traveling to different rooms and upstairs.

To prevent infestations keep on top of your flea treatments. Usually every one to two months depending on how exposed your pet is to parasites. For instance if you live on a farm or take long walks near farm lands/ in long grass etc. Worming should be every three months. If your dog contacts fleas they will need to be covered for tape worm as fleas can carry tape worm.

Speak to your vet about the best treatments to use. I would always advise using a proscription strength treatment as these are the most effective. ESPECIALLY if you have an existing infestation.

I regularly teat the salon with a spray but I can never guarantee all dogs coming through the doors are covered by a suitable treatment. It is your responsibility to keep your dogs covered when entering areas which have a high volume of potential carriers.

I am always happy to answer any questions I possibly can to help you all keep your pets happy, comfortable, safe & healthy.

I do also offer tick removals. All ticks should be removed the correct way to avoid infection and to keep scarring to a minimal.

⚠️Safety notice⚠️
Hi everyone!!! Hope you're all well and enjoying the sunny weather 😊☀️
I know I've posted about this before but I do feel it's important to remind everyone.
Even tho I have the Aircon going for the pooches, I'm concerned about some of them getting heat stress traveling to me in hot cars or walking in this heat 🥵
I will post about heat stress separately for anyone who wishes to read up on it.
I will understand if anyone wishes to rearrange appointments while the weather is so hot as safety comes first and it's sometimes better in extreme heat to keep them cool and calm at home in the shade, rather than risking a long hot car journey or over exhausting them on a walk. Heat stress is extremely dangerous and can be fatal so a groom sometimes is just not worth bringing them out for.
