Buckle in folks, because I’m back on my soap box! Actually I don’t think I ever get off said box, because I always have a lot to say when it comes to canine pain.

What an honour to be invited to speak at this year’s theme, going beyond tradition! I’ll be delivering two lectures,

That Ruddy Hurt- Pain in the Working Dog

Fetch Another Bag- GI Health in the Working Dog

Attendees will gain an understanding of the biomechanics of pain and how pain can present in the working dog. A deep dive into GI health, why it matters and what we can do to support the working dog.

I’ll be there of course with the wonderful team to again chat pain and photobiomodulation!

This month sees the kick off of You Can’t Train Away Pain day Seminars at YPT Education Centre!

I adore this day seminar, the content changes a little every time I deliver it. Small cohorts means engaging conversations with fellow professionals, I just love it!

🐾 Pause & Reflect 🐾

Sunday night, 8pm and the sun is setting on YPT clinic. With a face of make up and clothes not saturated in dog hair, I prepped for the biggest lecture of my career.

Dog Behavior Conference 2026, a real pinch me moment to see my name on the line up with real heavy weights of the dog industry!

Never in a million years did I think that I would be lecturing to such a large audience with the YPT canine pain message.

Rodney sat on my lap and listened to me waffle, it was then I saw Snoopy & Pennys picture on the wall. Always there watching over my desk and I think I will have made them proud last night.

Victoria the conference was incredible, thank you again for giving me a platform to share the YPT pain message and for being a dear pal and colleague 💙

🐾 Glimmer in Action 🐾

When Dylan’s medical history came through, it was daunting to say the least. 10.5 year old Mastiff, history of MCT, spondylitis causing neuro deficits and lameness *gulp*

Now when I first met Dylan I wasn’t sure who was going to plod into clinic, but in fact I was pleasantly surprised that he was pretty mobile for a senior giant breed!

He melted into that first session, soaking up whilst half asleep on my mat. Now given that he was so chill I asked mum if we could try some kino taping techniques with him, just to see if he will tolerate them.

Well not only have they stuck FAST but the combination of supplements, pain relief, LED, massage we have a much more chipper little lad. One who is now regularly breaking into a little canter on walks!

Today he was full of mischief, we even got a mini zoomies down the hallway. I said ooo let’s just do a video before and after see how we’re looking… well! Not often I’m lost for words, but it doesn’t matter how long I’ve been doing this job I’m still blown away by the resilience and determination of our canine companions.

This is a glimmer in action, a big sparkly puppy running up and down clinic. We LIVE for this little moments ✨

So proud of both Dylan and his Mama 💙
