💙 Signing Out 💙

This is my attempt at getting a group photo with my babies, I think it perfectly sums us all up 😂

Most of you will know I run a small zoo at home, and Nancy my beautiful Guinea Pig. Nancy passed at home in my arms on Sunday night, although my heart hurts immensely I’m thankful that we could all be with her till the end.

Nancy is a little pioneer of Guinea pigs using Photizo and is even published in a book on Photobiomodulation… the gal was always destined to be a star.

I will stop waffling now.

I do a big detox from my phone over the Christmas period, in fact I switch it off so I can recharge.

Ooo I LOVE diving into this branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and it’s so easy to implement aspects of this into every part of your dog’s diet. As part of my qualification in Food Energetics, I had to make Hoof Soup. Imagine a boujee bone broth, energetically balanced and the dogs loved it!

Now I don’t profess to be a trainer or a behaviourist, however, pain and behaviour are so intrinsically linked it is impossible to separate the two. Behaviour is 4D, parameters change, it isn’t static so our understanding on how to work with behaviour has to adapt to the individual. I am YET to meet a dog with behavioural issues that doesn’t have some element of pain… not one. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any out there, there will be but with the amount of painful dogs I see in clinic, online and on my social media feed it's hard to see past it. It also doesn’t mean that painful dogs shouldn’t engage with behaviour work, pain is as much an emotional experience as it is physical. Ethical considerations must be given when working with any dog, more so with painful dogs.

Before anything else, I am a dog mum. I live for my dogs, I live to ensure their health and happiness are fulfilled to the best of my abilities. I understand how emotive discussing pain is, there can be feelings of guilt, sadness and even frustration. Pain is complicated and the feelings involved in watching someone you love navigate their pain are just as complicated. I take my second job as Auntie Yaz very seriously, and I’m here to help you and your dog every step of the way.
