First Group success for the progeny of Nutan!

Alpenjager (pictured below) by Nutan won the Group 3 Herzog von Ratibor Rennen (8.5f) at Krefeld for trainer P Schiergen. The two year old chesnut c**t won impressively by 7 lengths and looks set for a tilt at the German Derby next year. He is a classy looking individual with size and scope to improve further very much like his sire.

Nutan, a former German Derby winner himself, has made an excellent start at stud so far from a limited number of mares covered in Germany. In his first season at Vauterhill he covered over 60 mares and we are excited to see his first British born foals this spring! Nutan as an individual is arguably the nicest stallion to stand at Vauterhill. A Group 1 winner with size, substance and class not to forget already producing a black type performer, he looks a real asset for National Hunt breeders.

Sole Solution by Sans Frontieres is a horse to put in the notebook. The 4yo gelding won a bumper decisively at Bangor first time out for trainer Venetia Williams by 4 lengths despite looking green. Interestingly, he is a full brother to Easy As That who himself is a dual bumper winner. Recently, Genovese a bumper winner and Windtothelighting who finished third in a novice hurdle at Doncaster after finishing second in an Irish Point to Point are promising horses by Sans Frontieres that should be winning soon.

Sergeant strikes again!

Sergeant by our new stallion for 2020 Nutan, made it 3 from 4 over hurdles at Exeter today under a very confident Mitchell Bastyan ride. Racing off the pace, he travelled smoothly and won with plently in hand. He looks a useful horse who could continue to progress throughout the season.

Top Trip who stood his first season with us this year, is a stallion we like a lot! Already a black type producing sire, his runners over in France have been consistent and he had a winner again yesterday at Auteuil named Top Cresselia, who won a 3yo hurdle for fillies. We are looking forward to his first UK born foals next spring!

Nutan.

We are delighted to announce we are standing Group 1 winning Nutan for the 2022 covering season.

He is a 9yo German Derby winning son of Duke of Marmalade out of a Peintre Celebre mare.

Nutan himself, won 2 races from 5 starts including an impressive 5 length victory in the Group 1 German Derby and he was also placed at Group 1 & 3 level and was in the frame in his other 2 starts.

He has a family that matches his race record being half brother to Nymphea, who is also a Group 1 winner in Germany and his dam is a Group placed sister to Italian Oaks winner Night of Magic.

His first crop are 4yo's and he has made a good start from small numbers so far. Last year he was sire of the 2020 Hungary Derby winner Faust and he is also sire of German flat winners Lionheart, Nutina, Sergeant and Turanadot to name a few.

On UK soil, his only two runners under National Hunt rules include the progressive Sergeant(mentioned above). He is a 4yo gelding trained by Milton Harris and won very impressively at Newton Abbot last month on handicap debut and followed up again at Sedgefield with a 9lbs rise in the weights. The manor of his victory's suggest he could be still ahead of the handicapper!

Nutan is a big, strong fantastic looking individual who will offer size and substance to breeders with a touch of class. We genuinely believe he is one of the most imposing stallions to stand at Vauterhill.

We would like to thank Richard Venn for sourcing the horse and we look forward to showing him to breeders next year.

Summer update!

Winners are still coming for Sans Frontieres this summer proving his durability on all grounds and distances.

San Fermin recently won his Market Rasen bumper extremely easily for trainer Olly Murphy and looks a promising horse to follow.

Other recent winners include Blue Sans, Profile Picture, Largy Trix and Ya Boy Ya who is a 124 rated chaser in Ireland.

We have been delighted with the foals we have seen this year by Sans Frontieres. They have size and scope and it's hard to pick a better bunch!

It's good to know breeders are pleased with San Frontieres and this is reflected on the number of mares that are returning this year.
